Chapter 18 Our Home
When Summer woke up the next day, the sun was already shining.
Assailed by a severe headache, she opened her eyes and looked at the strange room. When she turned her head sideways, she saw a pair of deep eyes fixed on her with a hint of a smile. In an instant, she bounced up like being shocked by electricity and held the quilt tightly.
"What is this place? You… I… how did I get here?"
"Our home." Howard got up and pulled open the curtains. Then dazzling sunlight came in.
"What home?" Summer sulked.
As if something struck her mind, she went under the quilt and saw her body in comfortable pajamas.
"Thank you for picking me up last night. Well… who changed my clothes?"
With a frivolous smirk, Howard walked to the bed and put his hands on the edge. Summer curled up and leaned against the bedside. At her earlobe, he slightly opened his thin lips, "What do you think?"
The hot breaths exhaled by him tickled her neck, and her cheeks turned rosy, "Vile, shameless, nasty villain!"
"Next time, I'll do more than just changing your clothes. And, you've wasted me one hour and 21 minutes. Come on, get up and have breakfast. Your clothes are in the closet."
Howard stopped smiling, checked his wristwatch, and said coldly.
Irritated, Summer got up and washed up. When the cloakroom was opened, she was stunned again.
It was not because of its exaggerated luxury this time, but there was a closet full of various clothes, including evening dresses, that fit her size.
Summer quickly picked a white sweater and simple ninth blue jeans. As usual, she tied a casual ponytail.
Waiting at the dining table with a tablet in his hand, Howard was checking the stock market.
Just then, a woman in her forties served white porridge, sandwiches, and milk with a smile, "Good morning, madam! Worried about your headache and appetite, mister asked me to prepare plain porridge for you."
Seeing another person in the house, Summer relaxed her anxious mind, "Ah, good morning and thank you! May I know your name?"
"Madam, you are welcome. I'm a servant here. Like mister, you can call me Lola." Lola had a kind face and showed a smile the entire time when she stood by the dining table.
Summer took a sip of milk and looked around the house. Although not as luxurious as the Tran's villa she visited, it was not small. There was even a small yard with various plants. Looked like they were in the villa area of the neighborhood.
The air in the room was awkward since no one was speaking. Summer took the initiative to go through pleasantries, "Such a big house is so clean. It must be difficult to clean it by yourself, right?"
"I only take care of mister's diet and daily life. Ida and Zoe, the cleaning ladies, will come at two o'clock every afternoon. There're another four lads responsible for security. Lest mister is disturbed, usually only I live here." Lola explained still with a smile.
"Oh."
Since she had seen the luxury of the Tran family, she no longer found it strange that seven, eight people took care of a normal man. After all, he was super-rich.
Upon hearing that Lola also lived here, she stole a glance at Howard and tried to sound her out, "Lola, I drank too much yesterday. You were troubled to change and wash my clothes. I'm sorry to disturb you at such late hours."
"No problem, I've washed your clothes. I'll have them ironed and sent to your room later." Unaware of her intentions, Lola replied politely.
Turned out it was not this cold-blooded CEO who changed her clothes. More relieved, she smiled proudly.
"Go with me as soon as you finish your breakfast." Howard got up and put down the tablet with a cold face.
This woman was heartless. Last night, she growled painfully, but actually got over it overnight.
