Chapter 22 You're Back

Howard finished signing the contract, hurriedly got in the car, and asked solemnly, "Still haven't reached her?"

"Yes, Miss Craig also hasn't found her." The assistant replied gingerly.

Howard's handsome face turned sullen.

When he almost reached Samite City, John called.

"What's the matter?"

His cold tone even froze the air.

"Miss Flynn is here. She has been waiting for over an hour and refuses to leave. The old lady is expecting your return."

After hanging up the phone, Howard felt even worse.

Ever since he canceled the marriage at the wedding, he hadn't apologized nor explained to the Flynn family.

He wanted to leave it as it was, but Elena's father, Adam Flynn used to work with his father. The man held 11.6% shares of Transcendent Group and played an important role in the board of directors.

Besides, he felt somewhat guilty for Elena.

"Go to Tran's house." Instructed Howard coldly.

In the palatial living room of Tran's villa, Elena and Amanda were chatting on the sofa.

When Howard paced in, Elena hurriedly got up, adjusted her clothes, and called out gently with a smile, "Howard."

Whenever she showed up in front of Howard, she would be dressed up properly, comb her hair neatly, and wear delicate makeup. Her every manner suited her status as the fair lady from a rich family.

Ignoring her enthusiasm, Howard reclined against the sofa lazily and spoke lazily, "For what business do you want to see me?"

The atmosphere was a bit awkward.

"It is too late. I'm gonna rest. Enjoy your time of chatting." Amanda sensibly got up with a smile.

"Howard, for so many days you didn't answer my calls and wouldn't see me. I…" Elena sat down upright and said cautiously.

"Didn't Amanda tell you?"

Seemingly tired, Howard closed his eyes and squeezed the bridge of his nose. Somehow agitated, he just wanted to send Elena away as soon as possible.

"Amanda told me to wait and hear it from you."

Howard sneered. Amanda was quite smart.

He stood up abruptly, took out the marriage license that he had been carrying with him, and threw it on the tea table, "I'm married."

Elena clenched her fists, opened the marriage license after a moment of hesitation, and shed silent tears.

"If this is all, I should go, suit yourself." Howard put away the little red book and said coldly.

The car pulled off at the building of Summer's home.

Heavy rain was falling outside. Sitting in the car, Howard dialed her number repeatedly, but no one answered.

"Go up and take a look." He lost his patience and said sullenly.

Mark immediately got off, rushed upstairs, and came back to report with a nervous look, "Mr. Tran, no one is up there."

"Find her." Howard's eyes turned gloomy.

The car slowly ran around the streets. Now Howard's weariness was gone, and he stared out of the window.

With no expression on her face, Summer aimlessly wandered in the streets. The rain soaked her, and her cell phone kept ringing in her pocket, but she could not hear it.

The events that happened in the past few days weighed her down.

"Mr. Tran!" Mark suddenly braked the car and shouted.

Howard abruptly looked out of the window and rushed out without his umbrella.

When he stood in front of Summer, his eyes looked terrifyingly cold.

"You're back." She raised her head and looked at him with a smile.

Her spirit collapsed, and she fell into Howard's arms in a swoon.
