Chapter 10 Shine Media's Editorial Department

Alex was a rich man, while Nora was a thoroughly poor woman.

Due to what Nora just said, the atmosphere between the two cooled down to a freezing point.

Alex placed his arms around Nora with one hand upon her waist. The woman could sense the furious vibe the man gave off, and the strength wielded upon his grip was increasing wildly.

Nora was acutely aware this was the omen of the man's losing control of his temper.

With his deep and long eyes fixed upon the stubborn woman's indocile face, a trace of coldness and displeasure indeed crossed Alex's standoffish countenance.

After a while, the man said with his lips curled up, "Fine. It's up to you." His tone was calm, but every cell of the woman could smell blood in his voice.

The next second...

Nora abruptly screamed in pain and shock.

Alex actually threw her directly onto the bed.

"Alex, what's the matter with you?"

Waves of pain assaulted Nora's abdomen. The man was simply mad. He clearly knew she was feeling unwell, but still, he ignored it.

Nora flew into a rage at the man's movement.

Without saying anything, the man swiftly took off his clothes to reveal his tanned, well-shaped muscles and threw them all over the floor. Presumably, he worked out a lot.

Nora was given no time to tilt her head to one side. Before she figured out what the man wanted to do, Alex had already put on his white shirt and black suit, his slender figure bathed in the grace of sunshine.

Then, the expressionless man passed by the woman.

Nora eventually arrived at her workplace, punctually.

...

At Shine Media's editorial department...

Nora had been working for this magazine for one year.

When Alex dominantly annexed the entire Stock Family, he also put the word out on the street that anyone who reached out to the Stocks would become his enemy.

Almost everyone in Ann City knew that offending Alex was no different from offending the king of hell.

Given no other choice, Nora had to turn to Alex for help. However, she was informed that the man was having dinner with his girlfriend, from whom Nora took Alex away.

Nora's heart ultimately died at that moment.

No one in Ann City was willing to help the Stocks.

Later, it was the editor-in-chief of Shine Media who took the initiative to find Nora. It turned out that the editor-in-chief had been a close friend of Nora's mother in college. After hearing about the Stock family's plight, she accepted Nora despite tremendous pressure. Nora was so grateful that she worked exceptionally hard. Within a year, she got promoted several times to the current position.

No sooner than Nora arrived at the company, a colleague named Janie told her, "Nora, you must work even harder recently. Also, you have to watch out for Lotty Shaw as you're the only person qualified to compete with her for the sub-editor position. As far as I know about Lotty, she will spare no effort to kick you out of the game."

Just then, a strong scent of perfume drifted in the room from the doorway.

A slim, eye-catching figure swiftly appeared in the view of everyone.

It happened to be Lotty that Janie had just mentioned.

Nora immediately sensed that Lotty was staring at her. When she got closer, Nora lifted her head to look into the woman's eyes, and both of them remained silent.

At this moment, a voice came from the editor-in-chief's office, "Nora and Lotty, you two come over now."
