Chapter 12 He Never Accepts an Interview
Lotty used all the positive adjectives she could deploy to push Alex to the pinnacle.
Nora listened to her and said nothing with a serene look in her eyes.
Nora knew well what kind of bastard the prince charming in the females' eyes actually was.
On the other hand, Nora had to admit some points in Lotty's description. For instance, it was true that the Stock Group's scale expanded tenfold under Alex's management. The man was indeed a genius in terms of business.
If Nora had not experienced Alex's cruelty, she would think that the man was genuinely worth people's admiration and obsession.
At Lotty's praise for Alex, Marjorie's expression became somewhat complicated.
Of course, she knew that Nora and Alex had a history with each other.
Although their previous marriage was not widely known to the outside world, Majorie was still worried about Nora. On the other hand, as Lotty mentioned, Alex was currently the hottest figure in Ann City. Everything about him would appeal to the media.
If they could produce a monthly magazine based on the man, the publication would presumably be sold out.
"Nora, what do you think?"
Marjorie tilted her eyes to Nora and asked for her opinion.
Hearing her own name, Nora came to her senses, set her lips into a grim line, then said, "Alex is indeed an ideal candidate. However, I heard that he never accepts any interview. That being the case, I think we'd better direct our attention away from him."
Nora mildly expressed her opinion to keep away from Alex.
The two of them had sighed a contract of surrogacy.
Though Nora was Alex's surrogate at night, the woman wanted to keep a distance from him at least in the day.
She was reluctant to maintain an ambiguous relationship with him.
However, Lotty disagreed with Nora.
After giving a cold, sarcastic glance at Nora, Lotty continued expressing her idea.
"Quite the opposite, I think we should concentrate on Alex. Once he agrees to accept our interview, our next publication will surely bring us considerable profits."
"Besides, it's too early to say that Alex will never do a private interview. There might be a solution."
Marjorie asked curiously at Lotty's last sentence, "Do you mean that you have one?"
Lotty replied to Marjorie in a relaxed, respectful tone of voice.
"I don't know Alex myself, but my father often plays chess with his adoptive father. My father has met Alex several times. So I'm thinking that maybe he will accept our invitation for the sake of our seniors' friendship."
Marjorie was stunned, then revealed a pleasantly surprised expression on her face. "So, you do have some confidence in this."
"I will try my best, Ms. Dawson."
On the other hand, Nora's heart became anxious.
After getting out of the office, Nora thought it over. She decided that as Lotty had started from the business elite's perspective, she must choose another field.
If Lotty's target were someone else, it would be much easier for Nora to fix on a counterpart in another field. However, Lotty's objective was Alex, and it was tough to find another man to equate him as Alex's counterpart.
She must find another way out.
