Chapter 9 I Will Sell You to Someone, Believe It or Not

Five years later, At the Beacon City International Airport...

Effie walked outwards while on the phone, and a little boy behind her was pushing a suitcase higher than him with difficulty.

Upon seeing the scene, people around could not help but whisper about it.

"Gosh, look at the young boy pushing a huge suitcase. He looks so adorable, right?"

"Totally! He is so cute and kissable! Who is he with?"

"Perhaps he is a kid of some celebrity? I mean, he is giving off a quite impressive vibe and looks handsome indeed!"

"..."

On the other hand, Effie listened to her cell phone intently and did not spare any attention to the discussion. "Okay, I will go to the company immediately after settling down!"

"Effie!" A voice familiar to the woman came from the crowd. Then, she hurriedly hung up and walked to where the sound came from. "My dear brother, you are much taller than the last time I saw you!" Effie patted Herman, who was a head higher than her and smiled heartily.

"Yeah, I know. If you still don't come back, I will become as tall as a tree or something." Herman deliberately teased his sister and could not help but hold her in his arms, his voice softening, "My dear sister, I miss you so much."

With memories rolling inside, Effie teared up involuntarily.

At this moment, the little boy behind walked over to them, tugged at the hem of Effie's coat, then said, "Mommy..."

Herman was dazed for a second, then lowered his head to look at the little one, replying, "I think you made a mistake. Your mom is not here!"

With that, he took Effie's arm to leave.

Effie flashed a helpless smile, saying, "Well, let me introduce him to you. This is Dylan, my son!"

"Your...son?" Herman was shocked, repeatedly looking at his sister and the little boy. When he eventually closed his mouth, his expression was still written with disbelief, asking, "Effie, what the hell? Are you...married?"

"Mmm."

"Where is your husband, my brother-in-law?"

"Divorced!"

"What?" Herman became even more surprised. "Effie, are you kidding me? Did you get married and divorced? And...who is this little thing?"

Being called a little thing, Dylan gave an unhappy glance at Herman, then said to Effie, "Mommy, I am thirsty and want to drink some water."

Effie took out a travel mug for kids from her bag and handed it to Herman, saying, "I will explain to you at a better time. Now please take Dylan home, and I'll come back to you guys right after the meeting I'm going to attend."

"Okay, then." Herman nodded, then thought of something and asked, "Effie, what do you do for work? It sounds mysterious."

"That is confidential!" Effie flashed a bright smile, then turned to leave.

Herman and Dylan stared at each other in silence, and eventually, Herman took the initiative to break the ice.

"Hey boy, call me Uncle Herman!"

Dylan glanced at the man with an icy, standoffish look in his eyes.

"Hey, I'm talking to you. Are you deaf or what?"

Dylan kept ignoring Herman. Irritably, the latter squatted down to look at the little guy head-on, then said with a threatening expression, "If you continue playing dumb with me, believe it or not, I will sell you to someone else."

"It's hard to say who would be sold in the end." After casting a disdainful glance at the man, Dylan walked towards the outside.

"What the hell? Boy, you're quite a big talker." Herman smiled and caught up with Dylan, asking, "Who did you learn the speaking style from? Your father?"

Dylan suddenly stopped, replying, "I don't have a father!" Looking in the direction where Effie disappeared out there, he added with a slight frown, "But I will find him!"

At the words, Herman's heart sank to the bottom, and he lost the mood to mess with Dylan in an instant.

On the other hand, Effie hailed a taxi and arrived at Star Entertainment smoothly and quickly.

The moment she got out of the vehicle, someone greeted her, "Isla!"

"Katie." Effie greeted that person back with a gentle smile.

"Wow, you are much prettier than that in a picture!" Katie Miller looked at Effie with amazement. "It's a reckless waste that you're working as a screenwriter. I mean, you should be an actress. And I'm sure, as long as you're willing to put energies in an acting career, you'll easily become an award-winning performer!"
