Chapter 12 Do You Know Who She Is?
Alexa's classmates were also shocked by Eliza's speech.
"Alexa, doesn't your sister have a mental problem? She dares to say such delusional words. Does she think that she owns the store?"
Alexa calmed down and put her sarcastic smile back on, "Who knows? I heard that there are all kinds of people in that orphanage. Many of them are mentally ill. In the countryside, she is pretty. Maybe someone played with her and broke her sanity. People in that kind of place are not picky."
"Alas, that's tragic. No wonder she looks so dull. Tsk-tsk, so pitiful."
The coldness in Eliza's eyes was about to burst.
Alexa inadvertently met her eyes and somehow felt a shiver down her spine, but it was hot July now.
She shook her head and told herself that it was her hallucination. Eliza was just a bumpkin who hadn't seen much of the world. She was bluffing.
"Dylan Welch, come up," Eliza called out coldly the next second.
Alexa was stunned as she knew Dylan, the manager, and leader of this store. Her father's company supplied raw materials for self-made ice creams to the store.
As far as she knew, the partnership was hard-earned. Instead of feeling inferior, she thought highly of her father! They used to have dinner together a few times. The man had been polite to her.
"Alexa, does this bumpkin really know Mr. Welch?" Lily Holland, her classmate, nudged her and asked in a subdued voice.
Alexa just snorted and remained composed, "Do you believe her? People growing up in the orphanage are rarely disciplined and good at lying. Telling ties is handy for her. Once intimidated, you'll be fooled!"
Lily mulled it over and believed that Alexa had a point. Besides, the Levine Family was so influential in Alexander City that a mere store manager could not scare them. Even if they knew each other, so what?
In a short while, Dylan came up and stood beside Eliza.
"Mr. Welch, how could you let such a liar and hick work in your store? It's degrading! A piece of advice, fire her today and check if the money in the store is stolen." Alexa forestalled her enemy.
Upon hearing that, Dylan frowned slightly and looked at her incredulously. His eyes were like telling her to stop talking nonsense.
Before he could explain, Lucy Beck, the other classmate, joined in the sarcasm, "Mr. Welch, I think Alexa's suggestion is quite right. The waitress you hired is poor in her service. She pulls a long face as if people are indebted to her. She doesn't have the slightest awareness of serving her customers.
I'm filing a complaint against her! My mood is affected."
The three girls joined hands to attack Eliza, leaving Dylan no room to cut in.
"Give them ten big portions of the same ice cream they ordered and let them enjoy it to their hearts' content." Without waiting for him to speak, Eliza instructed coldly.
"Eliza, you're insane. Who do you think you are? Will Mr. Welch listen to you? Sir, why don't you drive this crazy person away?" Alexa mocked her again.
However, hard reality slapped her in the face the next second.
"Yes, I'll get them prepared right away and send them over soon." Dylan respectfully bowed to Eliza.
"Mr. Welch, are you crazy, too?" Alexa was struck dumb.
"Miss Levine, mind your attitude. Do you know who she is?"
