Chapter 11 Granting Your Wish
Eliza certainly would not answer her call. Instead, she took a cold glance at the girl like seeing a fool.
Alexa was instantly ashamed into anger with her slight.
The two female classmates fanned the flame.
"Yikes, Alexa, looks like she doesn't know you."
"Tsk-tsk, she looks supercilious."
Alexa looked sullener, ready to go down and teach her a lesson, but Eliza came up independently.
Alexa's eyes lit up, and the corner of her mouth immediately curved up in a proud smile.
Eliza feigned arrogance but eventually came up upon her request.
But her delight didn't last long as Eliza headed for the third floor through the staircase without even halting her steps.
Ignored by the girl, Alexa was fuming with rage.
"Eliza, stop. I'm talking to you. Can't you hear me? You're not only a bumpkin but deaf! You should feel flattered that I talk to you!" She rasped.
"Who are you?" Eliza finally glanced at her and responded in a bland voice. Sometimes when the flies were too noisy, she had to deal with them.
Her composure was a world of difference from Alexa's discomfiture.
Those around them were attracted by Alexa's loud voice and wondered what she was up to...
She was so aggressive. It turned out the other party didn't even know her?
"Huh? Alexa, she claimed that she doesn't know you."
The embarrassment on her face soon gave way to intense anger.
"She has brain issues and grew up in the countryside. The lack of fine food affected the development of her brains. It doesn't matter. Since my sister and I meet today, I certainly will treat her well." She forced another smile.
Surprised voices of her classmates came out again, "Huh, she's your sister?"
Alexa lost her tongue. In fact, she didn't want to admit their relationship. It was shameful.
Nevertheless, it didn't matter because the matter would soon slip their mind.
"That's not important."
"Eliza, are you here to work? I assume you've never had anything at this place. After all, a small cup of it would amount to your living expenses for a year. Today is your lucky day. See? I still have ice cream I haven't finished. You can have it, and don't thank me."
Eliza laid her eyes on the table.
The ice cream in front of Alexa was almost finished. Only a thin layer at the bottom was left.
Her ice cream was a comparatively affordable offering in this store.
"Alexa, you don't have much left there."
"It's okay; you can lick the bottom. I think you also have enough, right? Our ice cream combined should be enough for her. She'll have something to show off when she returns to the countryside." She said in such a tone as if Eliza should be grateful to her.
As Eliza didn't move, Alexa looked impatient.
"What are you waiting for? Come on! I rarely have such luxury ice cream and want to share it with you. Don't fail to appreciate my kindness!"
Her friends echoed.
"She fails to appreciate it. It looks like she could only be a humble worker!"
"Ignorant people are like this. She is dazed. Could it be true that her brains are underdeveloped due to the lack of nutrition in her childhood? Mentally challenged?"
Eliza looked at those clowns and expected new tricks.
Was that all they had got?
"You rarely eat this ice cream?" She finally responded.
"Yeah, why? The Levine family is rich enough for me to have it every day, but I'm not a wastrel."
"I'll grant your wish then."
"What did you say?"
