Chapter 10 Snow Land
"Skyline Pavilion, the current No. 1 intelligence organization around the globe. Rumor has it that as long as there is a trace, they will be able to locate the person. Only..." Michael took a deep breath and then told his boss honestly.
"What, go on." Mason sounded more displeased.
"Skyline Pavilion takes orders randomly. Sometimes, they wouldn't take highly remunerative tasks but would take intriguing ones even without commission."
"Whatever methods you use and no matter how much it costs, make them investigate."
"Yes, sir. I'll contact them right away."
Mason hung up the phone and stood on the balcony. The evening breeze in mid-summer was slightly cold. Various chaotic images flashed across his mind so quickly so that he could catch none.
He suddenly coughed, and the sound was quite disturbing.
He covered his mouth with a handkerchief and coughed for a long time.
When it subsided, and he removed the white handkerchief, the crimson blood on it looked like a plum blossoming on the spotless snowfield. It might look beautiful but meant despair to Mason's eyes.
It looked like he didn't have much time left...
The following day when he came downstairs, the house looked bleak. His stepmother and niece were not at home. Even that girl was nowhere to be found.
Mason checked his wristwatch. It was eight o'clock early in the morning.
He lost his sleep again last night and now looked listless.
"Sir, will you have your breakfast now?" Reese got breakfast ready.
"Where are the others?" He asked casually.
"The old lady and Miss Juarez felt unwell and went to the hospital earlier. The young lady went out of the door at seven o'clock, saying that she's going to school."
Mason frowned imperceptibly as he remembered the intel collected by Michael. According to it, the girl was still in college. It was the second semester of her junior year. In middle July, the vacation hadn't started.
He hummed without asking more.
At four o'clock in the afternoon, the class was over. Eliza walked into a high-end ice cream store.
It was the most famous ice cream store in Alexander City. The flavor of their products was unique and unparallel. Snow Land was its name, and there were around ten branches in the city and chain stores all over the country.
Although the price was very high, their business was booming.
A small cup of ice cream would cost as high as tens of thousands of yuan.
Customers of all ages came to the store. Most of them were young ones from rich or noble families.
Eliza's daily wear was low-key and casual. In hot summer, she would wear a T-shirt, denim shorts, and canvas shoes. An old schoolbag was on her back.
When she went into the store, she looked out of place with the interior decoration.
The store was housed in a two-story building.
When the shopkeeper saw her, she didn't react much but remained busy receiving customers.
During such hours, the store was crowded. People in threes and fives as well as couples scattered everywhere.
Close to the stairs on the second floor, people could see what was happening on the first floor. On a sofa, Alexa was chatting with two female classmates. Her arrogant expression indicated her identity as a spoiled lady from a rich family.
She inadvertently took a glance at the first floor and suddenly fixed her eyes on Eliza.
The corner of her mouth curved up in an evil smile. She looked in deep thought, seemingly planning something.
"Alexa, what's wrong? Who are you looking at?" Her classmates felt curious about her expression and followed her gaze to look over.
"She looks like a poor village girl. Do you know her?" Her classmate asked again.
"Of course, I do." Alexa gave a meaningful smile.
Following her words, she stood up and looked down, "Eliza, come up here!"
Eliza raised her head and narrowed her eyes at the sight of Alexa's provocative expression...
