Chapter 2 The Rebirth

Tick-tock, tick-tock...

It was the voice of time.

"Are you awake?"

A mellow, magnetic male voice sounded.

Alyssa found it familiar and wanted to open her eyes. However, she felt her eyelids were heavy and that her head hurt badly.

She felt like her limbs and bones had been viciously crunched, and she had no strength at all.

It was exhaustion and pain that she could feel.

All of a sudden, she recalled that the last moment she jumped off a building.

Ryan...

The man destroyed her entire family.

At the thought of him, anger crammed Alyssa's heart. She was desperate to take revenge and to strangle Ryan with her own hands. She would never let him go, dead or alive.

Subconsciously, her hands clenched tightly, shaking in mute condemnation against that man's crime. "Ryan..."

"How dare you call another man's name at this moment?" Leon squatted down and looked at the girl who had just been fed medicine, and his gaze, hinted with a slice of disappointment, slowly descended and landed on the white jade amulet before her chest.

Huh? Alyssa was confused.

That voice again?

Could it be that she was not dead?

Feeling nervous and excited, she forced open her heavy eyelids.

A clear-cut face appeared in her sight!

Alyssa was shocked to see those gorgeous, handsome features.

Was she dreaming? She wondered.

It was actually Leon.

Seeing that Alyssa was staring at him, Leon, with a frown, reached out to take the woman and dragged her into his arms with all his strength as if he was worried that she would break free the next second.

However, Alyssa did not struggle in the least. Instead, she grasped the man's arm.

Leon looked at the girl in his arms with surprise and saw himself in those crystal-clear pupils gazing at him.

"Leon!" Alyssa looked at the man hugging her in disbelief and reached out to touch his face. It was warm to feel, and his eyes moved along with her hand.

Out of surprise and joy, Alyssa actually shed tears while smiling.

The man was alive! The confirmative message made her thrilled.

Did it mean that she was alive too?

She got Leon's arm in amazement. "You..."

"Say no more and don't call that man's name ever again. You have to marry me today." Leon looked at the woman in his arms with a determined look in his eyes.

He knew she was in love with another man but he must marry her.

At the familiar lines, Alyssa looked around. They seemed to be in a hotel suite. Those furnishings and the open window before them made the woman's mind chaotic.

She recalled that it was the hotel room where she was sent by her family three years ago, and this day was supposed to be the wedding day of Leon and her.

Was she reborn?

Alyssa shook Leon's arm in shock and looked into his eyes, asking, "Leon, how old am I now?"

Leon gave the woman a somewhat standoffish glance, replying, "It was your twentieth birthday yesterday. You are now marriageable."

Twentieth birthday?

Marriageable?

Gosh!

She was really reborn and came back to her twenty.

Staring at Leon, she touched his hand. "Are we getting married today?"

Leon remained silent, fearing that the moment he spoke, the woman would reject him.

Unexpectedly, Alyssa put her arms around him like she was holding some kind of treasure. "Let's get married, today."

"What did you say?" Leon froze as he did not expect Alyssa to agree to marry him. He lowered his head to look at her, suspiciously. "You want to do that?"

Alyssa nodded frantically. "Leon, I'm willing to marry you. Will you marry me?"

Leon was stunned for one moment and lost in thought at the woman's abrupt changes.

Was he having an auditory hallucination? He wondered.

She actually said she was willing to marry him.
