Chapter 16 Self-important

Skylar noticed his pause and became bolder.

"I assume the occasion should be very important. This lady looks so quiet and shy. If she couldn't handle it, wouldn't you lose face?"

"Oh? You want me to take you?" The corner of his lips curved up scornfully but his eyes glanced at Sophia tactfully.

Skylar rejoiced inwardly, put her hand on his robust chest, leered at him, and exhaled frivolously, "Mr. Brown, are you willing to take me?"

Sophia stood there silently and squeezed her slender fingers till her knuckles paled.

His eyes had been fixed on her. When he saw her ashy face, his deep eyes darkened even more. Like a storm deep in the sea, they looked terrifying and unfathomable.

"Heh."

A burst of cold laughter came out of his sexy thin lips. In disgust, he pushed the woman away and spoke slowly like a messenger from hell.

"I don't like self-important women."

"What?" Skylar was caught off guard and pushed over to the floor. Despite the pain, she looked up at the omnipotent man in shock and fear.

Without a glance at her, Jim raised his hand and gracefully patted the spot that was just touched by Skylar. His eyes were full of disgust, "David, drive her away."

"Yes, sir." David adjusted his glasses still with a calm face, walked to Skylar, stood still, and gave a polite smile like a robot, "Miss Doyle, this way please."

He pointed in the direction of the door.

Skylar froze there as such a turn of events was not even in her wildest dreams. Just now... the man was so kind. Why did he turn hostile so suddenly?

Just because she wanted to take Sophia's place and went out with him?

She dropped her eyes that were filled with viciousness and reluctance.

"Miss Doyle, Mr. Brown doesn't like disobedient women." A dreamy voice came over and sent a shiver through her. Skylar abruptly raised her head, only to see an impeccable smile on David's face as if the threat was not from his mouth.

"Miss Doyle, this way please." He repeated.

Skylar turned ghastly pale, abruptly got to her feet, and ran off hastily without taking her bag.

People at South Garden were all lunatics!

David took a glance at the backpack left by the woman, took it, and then bowed to Jim, "Sir, Miss Doyle left her bag here. I'll deliver it to her."

"Mm."

Jim nodded, and then David walked away.

"What are you waiting for? Go change your clothes. Do you... need my help?" Jim laid his eyes back on Sophia. Probably because his anger had been vented on Skylar, he looked in a much better mood.

"I'm fine. I... I can do it myself and will be right back." Sophia shivered and hurriedly shook her head.

"No need to be too formal, just look good." Jim added nonchalantly behind her.

Sophia frowned and hastened back to her room without looking back.

She looked at the clothes at a loss. As Jim didn't tell her about the specific occasion, she knew not which outfit to choose.

Anyway, he mentioned that it was not formal, so causal wear should be fine.

Five minutes later, she chose a relatively conservative set of clothes. Jim should like this style.

She then put on simple makeup and went downstairs.
