Chapter 15 Don't Be a Disgrace

"Domineering?" The anger on his face suddenly gave way to an icy sneer, "Sophia, what makes you think you can preach to me? Did you forget your place? Need me to remind you again? How did you kneel at my feet and beg me to buy you off last night?"

Like blades, his words assailed her and cut through her body.

The pain was excruciating.

"Jim, how could you...!" Sophia trembled, but words wouldn't come out.

Her pretty eyes were tinted with pain and her heart bled. She loved this man for so many years. How did the once sunny teenager become like this?

He became unreasonable, cruel, domineering, and selfish!

She was anxious to question him. Jim, what changed you? Just because she walked away back then? But she was also a victim!

At that, a glint flashed across Skylar's eyes.

Purchase?

Looked like she accidentally figured out Jim's secret? Moreover, given his attitude, this woman should weigh a lot in his heart.

Skylar developed observant eyes from years of hustling in the entertainment circle. At first sight, she felt a threat from Sophia. Now looked like the threat was not small.

The sound of a mechanical ringtone eased up the tension.

Jim finally snapped his gaze back from Sophia, took a glance at his vibrating cell phone on the table, picked it up, and pressed the answer button...

"Hello, anything?"

He said in a subdued voice. Apparently, he was trying to control his emotions. However, he was really not good at concealing his emotions. Displeasure and anger were distinct in his voice.

No one knew what the other party said, but his dashing eyebrow arched, his eagle's eyes narrowed abruptly, and his face turned frosty.

"I see."

He hung up the phone. Once again, his attractive eyes were glued to Sophia.

Like an irritated beast, she was frightened but stared back unyieldingly.

All of a sudden, the coldness on his face melted away and turned into a meaningful smile, "Change your clothes and come with me."

He then added, "Groom up, don't be a disgrace."

Sophia was stunned by his sudden change of attitude.

He was taking her out? She needed to dress up? And no disgracing him?

What was this?

While she was in a daze, Skylar was smart enough to take a tumble. Jim rarely showed up in public with any woman. The place didn't matter, but once Sophia showed up with him, she would find it hard to deal with the rival again.

She finally came to South Garden and had the chance to talk with Jim. Never would she allow this unknown woman to become her stumbling block.

Though aware that Jim didn't like it, Skylar gritted her teeth, walked to him, held onto his arm, and spoke in a sweet voice, "Ah, Mr. Brown, where are you going? I gave up my program and came all the way here to keep you company. Are you really leaving me like this?"

Sophia looked at Skylar's hand around Jim's arm for a moment, paled, and then turned her head away.

Jim paused from shaking off Skylar's hand, and his sexy thin lips involuntarily curved up.
