Chapter 8 You Won't Get a Penny

Did Leon's words mean Wilson did not have a girlfriend?

The entire City Y knew that Wilson was synonymous with standoffish, ascetic, low-key, and mysterious.

Emma replied relaxedly, "Since President Hayes doesn't have a girlfriend, there's nothing for me to help then."

"I'll give you a million yuan as long as you help to check if Wilson is heterosexual. Let me be frank with you, over the years; my brother has never been in a relationship. My Grandpa doubts that he is gay and is worried. I'm doing this to share Grandpa's worry."

"You shall turn to a better, prettier woman for help." Emma refused Leon's offer.

At the woman's smart reply, the corners of Leon's mouth twitched. Emma was more eloquent than he had learned.

"As far as I know, Wilson has only hugged one woman over these years, and it was you."

Emma rolled her eyes secretly, then explained helplessly, "But that's just an accident."

"A young woman once fell to the floor in front of Wilson, and he maintained motionless. Last night, however, he actually hugged you to stop you from falling. Miss Brooks, I would never have come to you if I hadn't witnessed that scene with my own eyes. Is a million too little? If it's not enough, I..."

"I am not interested and don't want to work during my holiday."

Leon snapped his fingers, then said, "Okay, I won't force you. You have three days to think about it. Call me when you have the answer. Here, this is my personal phone number."

With that, Leon took out a business card from his pocket and handed it to Emma, saying, "It's getting late. I'll leave you in peace. Good night."

Emma was stunned.

When she lifted her eyes again, the arrogant man was gone, and so were his subordinates in black. If Emma were not holding Leon's business card in her hand, she would think that it was a dream.

The next day, Emma returned to the Brooks Family's mansion.

"One million yuan? Who do you think you are to ask me for a million? I'm not giving you a penny."

In the hall, Benson, the head of the Brooks Family, shouted at Emma.

Emma's nails almost staved her palms when she gazed coldly at the man who was biologically related to her. "I will pay you back in two years! I need the money to save Uncle's life. Do you have to be so ruthless?"

"Sister." A gentle, sweet voice sounded as Mary, the other young lady of the Brooks Family, stepped downstairs in a princess dress. Although Mary appeared elegant and proud, she was apparently inferior to Emma, an iceberg beauty.

Staring at Emma, Mary said with a smile, "After you were kicked out of the house three years ago, your name was deleted from our family register. If you're asking Dad for one million yuan to cure your own cancer, I believe Dad will surely nod in agreement. However, you're using the money to help an outsider. Emma, do you think the Brooks Family's wealth comes out of the blue?"

Benson gave his younger daughter a satisfied glance, then said, "That's right. Come to me when you're diagnosed with cancer."

Emma almost bit through her bottom lip. "I think you will be desperate to watch me die if I get cancer."

"How dare you say that to me?" Benson raised his hand to slap Emma, but the latter grabbed his wrist nimbly. "I am no longer your innocent daughter like three years ago, and we're no longer related to each other. I will never, never call you Dad again!"

"You..." Looking into Emma's icy eyes, Benson suddenly shivered inside.

Emma looked like Hailey Porter indeed.
