Chapter 23 Enemy Coming to Door
Camila regretted going back on impulse. Now she couldn't beat her enemy. It was easy for Victoria to deal with her while it was delusional for her to retaliate!
At night, she tossed and turned, fearing that Victoria would harm her again. Meanwhile, she was angry not only with Victoria but her own weakness as well!
But she had a life to live. With big dark circles under her eyes, she went to class and acted normal in front of Joan.
"Camila, you don't look well today. You didn't sleep well last night?"
Worse, she didn't sleep at all!
Camila narrowed her eyes and smiled faintly.
"Huh? Maybe, I played with my phone and stayed up late."
Joan took her words for it, frowned slightly, and advised with concern.
"You can't do that again. Less phone time and more bedtime at night!"
Camila arched her brow and nodded.
She grinned on the surface but got mixed feelings deep down. She wanted to find someone and pour out her bitterness but knew that Joan was no match for Victoria. Therefore, she would rather bear it alone.
Jingle...
"Jojo, I'm going to the bathroom. Are you coming?"
Sure enough, girls liked to use the bathroom in groups.
"Yeah, just what I'm thinking, let's go."
Hand in hand, they talked merrily about where to hang out in the afternoon, but an unknown danger was approaching!
Along with several girls, Victoria came up menacingly from behind. In the corridor, everyone made way and dared not look.
"Hey, isn't this Camila? Small world, where are you going?"
Victoria trotted up and patted her on the shoulder.
Camila halted her steps, turned around, and pulled Joan to the rear in reflex. Restraining her fear, she asked calmly.
"What, anything?"
Looked like Arlo had gone to her. In her anger, she glared at Camila and sneered.
"Humph, you tell me. Looks like you're going to the bathroom? Let's go together."
Following that, the girl grabbed her arm and dragged her towards the bathroom.
Camila was ready to take a beating as long as the trouble was solved. Now she only hoped that Joan would not be implicated.
"Victoria, let go of me, I can walk! I'll go with you. This has nothing to do with Joan."
Joan's arm was grabbed by another girl. She wanted to break free but dared not. Her eyes became misty, and she snarled.
"What do you want? Let her go, we're at school!"
Victoria flung her hand off contemptuously and ridiculed again.
"At such a moment, you're still displaying sisterly love?"
Camila was clear that even at school, she couldn't do anything to Victoria. Her father was an official, and even their headmaster had to show him respect. Once this escalated, Victoria would get a demerit at most while her punishment was hard to tell.
About to enter the bathroom, she knew what would happen and felt heartbroken to see Joan suffering. In her desperation, she pleaded.
"Victoria, please let her go, just vent your anger on me."
