Chapter 15 Claustrophobia

A sense of danger engulfed her, who tensed up in fear.

Satisfied about her fear, Ben mocked arrogantly, "It turns out that you can also be afraid."

Gabrielle managed to suppress her terror, "I am not scared!"

She put on a tough face but felt anxious in her mind. She encouraged herself by thinking about how she could revenge him if she had not the courage to confront him.

Without knowing Gabrielle's thoughts, Ben found a strong sense of satisfaction and superiority in her fear and anxiety.

"A woman of duplicity."

Feeling a bit relaxed, Ben was about to let go of the woman in his arms when all the lights went out!

The bright wine cellar instantly turned dark like a closed black box.

Ben breathed heavily and clenched his hands as his heart tightened and his body stiffened.

Gabrielle, who stood by him, felt there was something wrong with him.

Looking at the darkness surrounding them, she spontaneously hurried to hug Ben.

"Don't be afraid," Gabrielle said in a shaky voice, holding the man tightly in her arms.

She was as tall as Ben's chest, making it easy to hear the sound of his heartbeat.

Pounding, pounding.

It was beating violently like a drum.

His body kept trembling as if he felt freezing.

But as the power had just gone out, there was little change in the temperature in the cellar. So it was unlikely that he shivered because of coldness.

A word flashed across Gabrielle's mind.

Claustrophobia...

It was a fatal weakness of Ben.

In the two years when she lived with Ben, she originally thought he was in excellent health. But she learned from an accident that he had serious claustrophobia.

"Get out. Get away from me!" Ben shouted in a quavering voice while his body stood rigid. But instead of pushing her away, he gripped her arms more and more tightly.

With a grimace of pain, Gabrielle wanted to get off him, but a voice in her head told her that how could she revenge him if he died now?

It was better to save him before she could make him pay the price for what he had done.

"Ben, listen, don't be stubborn!" Gabrielle comforted while holding his face to look straight into his eyes in the darkness, "Close your eyes. Don't look at anything. Don't think about anything."

At her words, Ben slowly calmed down and closed his eyes.

When she found his body relaxed a bit, Gabrielle continued reassuring, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."

Her voice was soft and soothing.

Ben felt as if the woman he had longed for was accompanying him like the old days.

"Gabrielle..." Ben mumbled and collapsed.

"Ben!" Gabrielle was anxious to sustain him stably. But she could only catch his arms to help him lay on the ground, "Hold on!"

Aside from his rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath, he was in a cold sweat with his hands and feet shaking... More seriously, his whole body would twitch before he fainted out.

Gabrielle examined Ben in panic.

"Ben, tell me, is there a switch here to get out?" Gabrielle shook him anxiously.

She was clear that claustrophobia was a fatal disease.

She did not want him to die!

Gabrielle convinced herself that she had to save him for her revenge.
