Chapter 3 I'm Getting Married
"Jennifer, I dare you!" Ethan gnashed his teeth and quickly signed the contract.
"Thank you, Mr. Moore!"
"Why... what did you call me in bed? Ethan. Now right after I signed the contract, you call me Mr. Moore? How heartless you are!" Ethan yanked her into his arms.
Instead of resisting, she kissed him on the lips.
Their lips contacted passionately, but she suddenly bit through the drug hidden in her mouth.
When Ethan tasted something different, it was too late. The drug had gone down his throat and flowed into his system.
The potent drug would take effect in three minutes.
Jennifer moved away, and Ethan wiped his moist lips with his slender finger. "Poison?" He smirked.
Jennifer shook her head, but her eyes turned solemn. "Ethan, I have something very important to tell you. The 100-day contract is over, and I'm getting married." She said seriously.
Heh heh... what a farce!
Turned out she was the one about to get married?
"With who? Wesley?" His eyes instantly turned gloomy, "What if I want to renew the contract?"
"Sorry, Mr. Moore, I won't. A wife is much more respectable than a lover."
Jennifer changed her clothes and turned to leave.
Ethan quickly grabbed her arm but felt dizzy. Before he could speak another word, he collapsed on the bed...
Jennifer covered him with the blanket and stroked his lips with her cold finger, "Ethan, it was not the truth. You are my only man!"
Only when he was asleep and unable to hear her did she dare to confess her love.
Her tears dropped and wet his lips.
She lowered her head and wiped the bitter tears off his lips with her gentle, loving kiss!
Before leaving, she took off the jade bracelet and put it on the table. She came with nothing and left with nothing.
The deal seemed fair, but... the past 100 days had been permanently imprinted in her mind.
...
In the early morning, she went straight to a commercial building.
She walked to the front desk, ready to get on the elevator when someone intercepted her with a smile, "Sorry ma'am, staff only."
Jennifer halted her steps and then dialed a phone number, "Unfortunately, I'm stopped by your staff."
The receptionist wondered who she was calling, worried if she had offended someone very important.
Two minutes later, Wesley came over in a black handmade suit, "What brought you here?"
Jennifer teased, "If I didn't, how would I know I would be turned away?"
"Jennifer, my turf is always open to you!" Wesley said.
The receptionist lost her head and froze there. Her boss came to pick her up in person. Was she his wife?
She was more than scared.
Jennifer read her mind and reminded her, "You can go back to your post!"
Wesley and she then took the dedicated elevator straight up to the CEO's office.
"Wesley, let's get married!" Her voice resounded in the office.
