Chapter 7 You Can Kiss Your Bride
The wedding was held the next day.
Jennifer was woken up by an insistent knock on the door. She opened the door, only to find Wesley standing outside with an angry face.
"What's wrong? Mr. Tucker was not satisfied last night and now vents his spleen on me?"
Jennifer then noticed his white suit and rubbed her eyes, "To attend an important event? Dressing so formally."
He could no longer hold back his anger. "Jennifer, remember what day it is today?"
"What day?" She was baffled.
"The day of our fake wedding. What kind of bride would sleep till ten in the morning? And she wouldn't answer her phone." Wesley gnashed his teeth.
Jennifer took a tumble, checked her phone, and found over 20 missed calls from Wesley.
"Sorry, the alarm clock failed to wake me up, and I really forgot."
Wesley rubbed his third eye area, "You're the only bride in this world who could forget her wedding."
"I promise, I'll change into the wedding dress and put on my makeup in an hour. We won't miss the auspicious time." Jennifer promised immediately and pushed Wesley out of the room.
Soon, the stylists came in with the accessories and the wedding dress.
It was a restless hour. Jennifer cooperated with the stylists to put on the wedding dress, the makeup, and do her hair simultaneously.
At 11 o'clock, she stood beautifully in the white wedding dress in front of the mirror.
She looked gorgeous!
She couldn't help but marvel at her own appearance, and the red Lycoris Radiata tattoo on her shoulder was eye-catching.
When the auspicious time came, Jennifer walked on the red carpet alone with flowers in her hands. Ahead of her stood the dashing Wesley in a white suit. He was waiting for her to come close.
On both sides sat about 100 so-called guests and total strangers to her. Anyway, Wesley was resourceful enough to find the audience.
Though small and hasty, the wedding ceremony went on smoothly.
On the stage, Wesley moved closer to her and lowered his voice, "Do you think... Ethan will come?"
"I've no idea!" Answered Jennifer.
She was speaking the truth.
"In this case, the wedding will be real. I'll marry you to torture myself!"
"Wouldn't those pretty girls come to our door every day and beg you to change your mind? Are you really willing to let go?" Jennifer asked with a calm face.
Just then, the voice of the priest came out, "Please exchange your rings!"
When the rings were presented, Jennifer's eyes were filled with shock. Such exquisite rings were not likely to be temporarily prepared.
Wesley put the ring gently on her and explained slowly, "No doubt about it, I once planned to propose to you with this ring. Today, I put it on you and fulfilled my initial wish."
"No matter what, this ring always belongs to you, Jennifer!"
She was lost for words.
Deep down, she knew well that Wesley had moved on a long time ago.
They were irreplaceable lifetime friends of each other.
But they would not be a couple.
Just then, the voice of the priest came out again, "You can kiss your bride now."
