"You sneaky girl why didn't you tell me you were the one assigned to my man?"

Jane yelled when Laura picked up her phone.

"You wanna blow up her ears she heard Nathan ask."

She removed the phone from her ears and placed it on the loudspeaker.

"Sorry ma," she replied

"There was no time you already left the hospital before the doctor told me and also when I came in this morning you were not around. And I was in a hurry so.."

"So how is it like being Devon's nurse?" She asked cutting her off.

"For one I have not started my job so I don't know yet, two he is not here yet so don't bother asking me about him."

"Show-off I dislike you right now," Jane replied.

"I love you too Jane," Laura answered.

"But seriously girl I envy you, I will give up everything including my annoying cousin to be Devon's nurse you are so lucky."

Laura laughed.

"Sylvia is gonna cry when she finds out that you are the one taking care of Devon when it was her turn to do home service."

"I already told her she seemed quite excited and also disappointed that she is not the one to take care of him but she didn't cry,"

Laura explained laughing.

"All I can say is I am jealous, Tasha is more jealous though. we were all talking about it today before Nathan and I got off work and she said will get just you kidnapped and make sure the director replaces you with her then release you back. And while you are detained she will make sure you dare yourself with what goes around in our world. And also learn every little detail about various celebrities." Jane explained laughing the whole time.

Laura couldn't help herself she laughed out loud uncontrollably.

"You guys are clowns." She said

"Yeah, I agree they are all clowns," Nathan said.

"What are you still doing here don't you have a date to attend?" Jane asked him.

Laura could picture her rolling her eyes at him.

"I canceled, I am gonna sit here and bug you all night long. If you want you can go out." Nathan said.

Laura couldn't contain her laughter those two were comedians

"You two cut it out."

She said when they continued bickering.

"Anyway, Laura back to what we were discussing before the chicken rudely interrupted," Jane said.

"I am listening."

Laura replied thinking she would talk about collecting Devon's autograph but she was off.

"In as much as I am jealous of you, I am glad you are the one who is taking care of him cuz me, Tasha, or Sylvia would have been fangirling over him and forget our professional self. Tasha even agreed when Nathan brought it up."

"See you agreed with me, so why did you almost eat me up at the hospital?" Nathan asked

"Well annoying you is my life goal." She replied to him.

"So Laura please take good care of my Devon he is precious to so many people and they will hurt you down including I will hunt you down if anything happens to him. I watched his live video today and I cried he looked so down, so vulnerable. So please darling treat him with care."

Jane told Laura in a genuine pleading voice that made Laura's heart skip a beat. Wow, she didn't know one could love another who didn't know shit about them that much. so she answered with a sincere heart.

"I will Jane don't worry he is in good hands."

"Thanks, Lau, I know I can always trust you. If you need to know anything about him I am one call away I will be your personal Wikipedia." She added.

"Thanks, Jane."

Just then she heard voices, she could make out Mark talking and giving out instructions they finally arrived.

"Jane, I have to go my work starts now," she said

"Ohhh... Okay, see ya." Jane said and hung up.

Laura quickly dropped her phone on the table. And walked out of the room.

"Oh, Hi Laura dear good to see you again, I almost thought I won't see you again cuz I was almost killed by some fans would our dearest boy. Mark said when he saw Laura. She laughed. A lot of things have made her laugh today.

"Oh my God, Mark are you okay?"

she asked with concern though she could tell he was joking.

"Yeah I am fine now Devon promised me a Ferrari for my trouble so I am good."

"Wow, that's nice."

"Mark!! you forgot me in the car."

Devon called from outside the house. Laura giggled shocking herself she never giggles. These two are just like Jane and Nat. She thought to herself

"Oh, come on stop overreacting you know I didn't."

Mark replied walking back to him Laura followed behind him.

"Hi, nurse welcome to my humble home."

Devon said with a child-like smile he looked different from the guy she watched on the live stream, about three hours.

"Hi, welcome back how are you feeling?"

"Aside from the fact that I have no legs and my job has been taking I am fine."

"That's good to know."

He smiled.

"Hmm, how am I gonna take a bath? That's what I have been thinking about since." He said more to himself.

"You don't take a shower, for now, you just clean your body with a bath towel for the main time." Laura answered.

"What are you for real?? Wow, this is bad, so bad you mean I am gonna be smelling?"

"No, I didn't mean that, if you do a proper cleaning it will just be like bathing the only thing is you don't pour the water on your body or use a shower you just use a towel to wipe your body clean. Don't worry it will only be for about a week." Laura explained.

"That's not encouraging, nurse."

He answered shaking his head.

"But I will take it. I mean what other option do I have?"

"None." Mark replied.

"Now let's get you in so you can take your drugs and rest, you have been stressed too much today." Mark said.

"You look stressed too Mark you should go home." He answered.

"I thought we talked about this Eva.."

"I know, I know, sorry I forgot for a minute." He answered

"Eva is my wife,"

Mark explained when Laura looked at them confused

"Oh, okay." She said mentally scolding herself for being nosy.

They manage to get him into his room without much of a hustle and Laura gave him his drugs, made sure he laid properly on the bed, and wished him goodnight. she exited his room and made her way to the balcony.

"Mark,"

she called when he didn't notice her presence he looked deep in thoughts.

"Hey dear, you guys are done?" He asked

"Yes, I left him to sleep he looked tired."

"Yeah, he had a rough day."

"So, how are you doing Laura? We just took you away from work and brought you to a partial forest we are sorry about that."

"No, don't be, I like it here it calm. like Dan said it's the perfect place for healing." She replied

She really did like it here the few hours she have spent here she had done a little bit of exploring around the house. The place was a beauty.

"I agree with you on that." Mark said.

"You look tired, you should get some rest yourself, you don't wanna break down." she told him.

"Yeah, I was about to do that I just had to talk to my wife first if not she will call me in the middle of the night."

"Oh, she seems like a cool lady."

"Yeah, she is."

"That's good to know."

They watch the sunset in silence for a while then Mark excused himself and left after making sure she will be fine on her own. He was a very caring person.

Laura sat at the balcony admiring the beauty of the sunset for a couple of minutes more before going back to the room that was giving to her.
