Chapter 3 Threatening

Mrs. Shen hugged the young girl tightly. "Fine, fine, we won't let you marry him. You are the most beautiful girl and you'll marry the best man. If you don't want to marry, we will let your sister marry him!"

"She isn't my big sister. She isn't one of our family." Patti said in disdain, then changed her tone, "I want to marry Paul Ho, because he will be the owner of the Hos."

Ada returned to her room in a daze. When the door closed, she leaned on the door and slowly slid down, suddenly sitting on the carpet.

She hugged her knees as tears streamed down her cheeks.

Her family wanted her to replace Patti to marry when she even did not know if Samuel was dead or alive. And if she didn't marry, they would stop to pay for his brother.

But if she married…

Then what about Samuel?

Why did she have to face these?

Someone knocked on the door. "Ada, I know you're in the room, can Mommy talk to you?"

Ada's body stiffened, and her fingers instantly tightened.

After a moment of silence, she opened the door.

Mrs. Shen didn't care whether or not her daughter had changed wet clothes. She walked in and said, "Ada, I know you hate me. But there's nothing I can do! That year, when I brought Hanson and you to the Shens, I suffered a lot. They also treated you two as their own children, making you a Shen, allowing you to study and treat your brother's illness. You know that your brother won't be able to get better in this lifetime. If there isn't a good treatment, then he won't be able to live longer."

Ada's downcast eyes concealed boundless sorrow.

"Just thinking about how our family would be forced into debt because of the Hos, my heart is not at ease. Without all these, what would you and Hanson could rely on?" Mrs. Shen rubbed her eyes pretentiously, "I did all of this for your own good. Although the man you are going to marry is just a foster son, he's still the eldest son of Hes. Once you marry him, you will also be respected! Even if he will not be the leader of the Hos, Paul will still consider him as his brother and make sure you live well."

Seeing that Ada was not moved at all, Mrs. Shen finally used the ultimate method. She turned around and started to wail, "My life is miserable! I've had three children in my life. One of them was born stupidly, while the other was disobedient! My poor little Patti, who was going to lose her mother… I might die right now! What's the point of living?"

Ada would compromise every time she cried.

But this time, Ada asked indifferently, "Mom, Samuel respected you since he was young. He would bring gifts to meet you. Did you ever ask me about him?"

As soon as she said that, Ada's eyes instantly reddened and she almost cried again.

"Isn't he already dead? It's just a dead man, what's the point to ask?" Mrs. Shen blurted out, "If it wasn't for that his family still had some power, how would I have agreed to the relationship between you two?"

Ada shut her eyes forcefully, and her tears started to fall.

She was truly unwilling to admit that the person who had said those words was actually her mother.

Except Patti and herself, who else did she care about?

"Besides, didn't I find you a better partner now? Ada, you are lucky. I warn you, if you dare not to marry, I will immediately get someone to stop Hanson's treatment!" Mrs. Shen exhausted her patience and immediately stood up. She did not even glance at Ada before she left the room.

It was her son! She wanted to threaten her daughter with her own son's life!

Hearing the door being slammed shut, Ada could no longer control her emotions, she hugged her knees and started to wail.

A figure timidly stood in front of Ada and spoke, "Ada, clothes, wet."

When Ada heard this voice, she slowly looked up.

Hanson's astounding appearance instantly caught her attention.

Ada instantly stood up and hugged him, fiercely venting all of her grievances with her tears.

No one in the whole family noticed her clothes wet. Only her brother, who was autistic, noticed it.

"Brother …" Ada tightly hugged onto Hanson's waist and sobbed without a sound.

"Don't cry, Ada, don't cry." Hanson's body stiffened, but he still mechanically stroked Ada's head.

Ada coaxed Hanson to sleep before she sat in a daze.

Since she was a child, taking care of her brother had become her responsibility.

She didn't know when his brother’s illness was found and when he stopped to communicate with others.

Other than Ada, no one else was able to communicate with him.

Ada reached out and gently caressed her brother's face, her heart became soft.

In terms of the appearance, her brother was the only person who could compared with Paul.

However, they were in completely different situations.

His brother could only be locked in his room and immerse himself in the world of loneliness.

Paul, on the other hand, was the ruler of the financial world.

When she thought of Paul, she was unhappy.

After a long treatment, her brother had already been willing to communicate with her. The doctor said that if he was treated for a while longer, he would be able to communicate with others like a normal people.

At this critical moment, how could she stop the treatment?

However, all the money she earned had been taken away by her mother for the sake of nourishing her brother. In addition, she still owed one million. If they stopped to pay…

Ada did not dare to think further.

She could not imagine Hanson fell into the darkness once again.

No, absolutely not!

Paul shook the wine cup in his hand, looked at his big brother who suddenly paid him a visit and slightly squinted, "Give me a reason to help you."

Paul's big brother, the adopted son of Hes — Oliver Ho drank all the red wine in the cup in one time and let out a long breath, "Paul, I have already officially renounced the right of inheritance."

"But that's not enough for me to help you." Paul chuckled, a glint of light flashing across his phoenix eyes, "Change the condition."

"How about the information of the girl whom you have been searching for?" Oliver suddenly looked up at his younger brother, who was cold and seemed to be able to shake the world.

Paul's fingers suddenly tightened, and his expression instantly changed, "Are you serious?"

Oliver nodded, "The last place she appeared was where I am about to go. I can help you find more information about her."

Paul was considering.

Oliver immediately said, "As long as she isn't pregnant within a year from now, Elder Madam will drive her away. You will only have to marry for one year."
