Chapter 10 What Does Barry Mean
"Barry, sit down and have a cup of tea before you go."
Flora gave a sweet smile. Her voice was soft, gentle, and seductive.
Barry glanced at her nonchalantly. After a moment of trance, he took his seat.
He looked down and saw the blood-stained letter of share transfer. The servants forgot to put it away.
Noticing Barry's gaze, Flora hastened to explain, "Mary is too young to run the company. So, my dad wants to help her and will give it back when she is capable enough."
"Yeah, right, Mary is always extravagant. If she holds so many shares in her hands, she might be tricked by others. If she gives them away, it will be a heavy blow to Yeates Group. We are all for her good."
Lynn also spoke up hurriedly to justify her husband's behavior.
Senior Mistress Yeates also restrained her fierceness and showed a gracious look, "Barry, how is your grandpa?"
Barry just nodded his head without a word.
Swallowing the discomfiture, Senior Mistress Yeates continued, "Barry and Flora quite get along. Our family wants to connect with yours through marriage, so..."
"Uncle and auntie just passed away, and we should respect them. Although I am an outsider, I think you should honor their will. If you really want to contribute, you can give counsel rather than hold the power."
Following his words, Barry got up and left without drinking the tea or responding to the marriage topic from Senior Mistress Yeates.
"Barry, Barry."
Flora came to her senses first and hurried out.
Barry was already in the car.
Flora patted the window anxiously.
"What?"
The window slowly lowered, and Barry glanced at her with a frown.
Flora gave a sweet smile, "Barry, we haven't met for a long time. I'd like to invite you to dinner. When are you free? By the way, could you give me your phone number? I want..."
"I'm busy recently."
Barry refused indifferently, and the driver immediately started the car. Only the exhaust gas was left to her.
With frustration, Flora watched the extended Rolls Royce leaving. The gentleness on her face was long gone, and she showed her true color.
"Flora, what does Barry mean? He intends to help Mary?" As soon as Flora came back, Talbot asked hurriedly, "He was implying something."
If the Crown Prince of Lambert Family stepped in, his plan would be in jeopardy.
"Impossible." Flora snorted, "The whole world knows that bitch Mary likes Barry, and they also know Barry hates her the most."
She paused and continued, "I think that's probably because of Senior Master Lambert, therefore, Barry mentioned respect to the deceased. He doesn't like Mary at all. How is it possible that he helps her?"
While the members of Yeates Family argued about Barry's attitude, Mary was on the way to a hotel.
She didn't want to go to Sherwood's house like this. It was too shameful, and she didn't want to meet anybody.
"Mary, shall we go to the hospital?" Sitting in the backseat, Stella held Mary with distress, "Scars might be left on your back."
With her eyes closed, Mary shook her head vigorously, "I'm fine. I will be okay if I rest for a few days."
Suddenly, a cold figure crossed her mind. After a moment of hesitation, Mary ventured to ask, "Stella, he..."
"He who? Barry?" When the name was mentioned, Stella's brows were knitted, and she shouted resentfully, "Don't mention that bastard. When we reached the place, he had been standing outside for quite some time. When Talbot hit you, he just stood by. Even a stranger wouldn't be so cold-hearted."
