Chapter 11 She Should Be a Party of Joint Marriage

"No wonder everyone describes him as cold-hearted. It is quite true!"

"Mary, don't be silly. That kind of man is not worth your affection. Look at my brother, he is a good man. How about you be my sister-in-law?"

"Stella."

While driving the car, Quentin slightly changed countenance, and a flicker of unnaturalness flashed across his blue eyes.

After that, Mary was too absorbed in her thought to hear the following conversations of the brother and sister.

Stella's words of him standing outside for quite some time kept spinning on her mind.

It turned out a man could be as cold as that.

She didn't hope for the slightest affection from him, but couldn't he speak out for her when she was all helpless?

But they didn't have any relation. Just because she liked him, she could ask him to uphold justice?

The Crown Prince of Sunderland and future boss of Lambert Group was God's favored one.

He had his pride.

And she was far inferior.

It turned out her affection was unilateral.

Because of her injuries, Mary had been lying in the hotel for a week until the doctor's call came in.

"The medical fees are unpaid? I'll pay it right away."

Mary hurried to the hospital. Her brother, Scott Yeates, was in pretty bad shape. The medical expenses in the intensive care unit were sky-high.

However, when she swiped her card, Mary found she only had ten thousand dollars left. She took out the card left by her parents, only to find it frozen.

"Do you pay it or not?"

People in the queue urged impatiently from behind, and Mary had to turn sideways to make way.

She made a call and checked the status of the cards under her parents' names. All of them were frozen, and she couldn't withdraw a penny.

The ten-thousand-dollar deposit in her card was not even enough for a day's treatment.

If she couldn't afford it, the treatment of her brother would terminate. This was a moment of money for life.

In desperation, Mary had to call Stella.

"Hello, Stella... could you lend me some money?"

"How much?"

"100 thousand dollars."

If it was another person, she might go nuts. Stella, however, directly transferred 200 thousand to her account.

Mary paid the bill and then went to the ICU.

She was not allowed to get in and could only watch through a small window.

Her brother loved her dearly but now lay still in bed with intubation tubes all over his body.

Mary's tears fell involuntarily.

"Brother, don't worry, I will hold up, and you should recover soon."

"Brother, I will be waiting for you."

She came out of the hospital and hailed a taxi back to the hotel. Along the way, she found a piece of news on her cell phone. It was about the Crown Prince of Sunderland. The big headline was an eyesore: Crown Prince of Sunderland is rumored to be in love with lady Flora from Yeates Family...

There was a picture below. Although only their backs were shown, Mary recognized them as Flora and Barry.

Just like Mary, Flora had been admiring this man since her childhood.

Now Talbot spared no effort to take the shares from her. If they connected with Lambert Family through marriage, she would find it more difficult to fight back.

A flicker of coldness flashed across Mary's eyes. The car accident of her parents was absolutely the result of a scheme, and she must ensure that her brother's treatment continued. If Yeates Family wanted a joint marriage with Lambert Family, she should be a party!

Back at the hotel, Mary searched for some information with her computer and then made a phone call.

"Hello, boss, finally you contact me, I'm so worried."

"Save the crap and dig into a matter for me."
