Chapter 16 Rejection in Public

"Junior Master Lambert!"

Somehow the Crown Prince suddenly appeared between Mary and President Zimmer, which shocked everyone.

The Crown Prince was known for his low profile and apathy. Besides, he was not fond of meddling in others' business. What was this about?

When Mary bumped into him, Barry was holding a cup of wine. Under the impact, the wine spilled on his pure handmade customized suit. The stain gradually spread out like a blooming flower.

Mary slightly blinked her bright eyes.

She was stunned for a moment, looking blankly at the tall and perfect man by her side. Her heart gave a physical lurch.

But soon she lowered her head and spoke nothing. The scene was awkward.

Lynn just mustered up her spirit which was soon dampened by the unexpected man.

Did he care a little about her?

"Barry?"

Flora pushed her way through and chuckled, "When did you come here?"

She deliberately accosted Barry to show their connection.

"Just now."

"Oh."

"Barry, shall we have a dance?"

Flora intended to pull Barry away in case he wrecked her parents' plan.

"Not good at it."

Barry's eyes were dim and emotionless.

Flora felt embarrassed for his rejection in public.

"Junior Master Lambert."

Mandy swiveled her eyes and grinned, "Please make way for the affectionate couple."

"Affectionate couple?"

It was rare that the Crown Prince spoke this time. Mandy pointed at Mary and President Zimmer, "Sister Mary is going to marry President Zimmer and will become Mrs. Zimmer."

"Says who?"

Mary finally raised her head. A flicker of disdain flashed across her pretty eyes.

She coldly ran her eyes over Talbot and others, "Lynn, you can sell your daughters. After all, you bring them up. But you have no right to sell your niece!"

Lynn changed countenance, "Mind your words. How would I sell you? Aren't you on good terms with President Zimmer?"

Mandy nodded her head, "Yeah, you've slept with President Zimmer!"

Her words shocked everyone on the spot. Did Mary sleep with a 50-year-old man?

"Evidence."

Mary showed a cold face, "I don't even know this President Zimmer. Do you think you can bully me at will since my parents are gone?"

At this, Mary smiled indifferently, "Yeates Group is still in my hands, and I am the highest executive director. Talbot, you'd better give up your dirty tricks. As long as our eldest branch still exists, you will never control Yeates Group!"

Mary spoke aloud, completely disclosing Talbot's scheme in the presence of so many business tycoons and celebrities.

Everyone was shocked by the scene. Since the 20-year-old girl lost her patrons, she was expected to be a lamb to the slaughter. To their surprise, she was so tough.

Mary didn't have a good reputation. In the eyes of the upper class, she was a sheerly willful and faineant lady.

Therefore, after her parents passed away, no one expected her to carry on the great cause.

"As for the betrothal gifts, they should belong to Flora or Mandy. After all, you have a say for their marriage but not mine."

Following her eyes, Mary suddenly turned to Quentin and smiled gently, "Besides, I have such an outstanding man like Brother Quentin by my side, how would I take a fancy to an old man over 50 years old?"

President Zimmer was also not a good man, so she didn't care about his dignity.
