Chapter 19 Brother, Are You Interested in Mary
Under the disguise of a chat with a random guy, Mary approached Mandy.
When a waiter walked by with a tray, Mandy changed a glass of wine.
Mary narrowed her eyes. If she was not wrong, there was an extra room card in Mandy's hand.
"Humph, that bitch was high-sounding. In fact, she is anxious to marry Brother Barry."
Mandy saw Mary out of the corner of her eye and undisguisedly muttered to Wendy. Her voice was medium and loud enough to Mary's ear.
Mary gave a faint smile. She was afraid of being kept in the dark. That fool somehow gave away the information.
Wendy only drank her juice and listened quietly.
Mandy continued, "Brother Barry likes me and will be engaged to me. Wendy, congratulate me."
"Hmm, may all your wishes come true."
Wendy generously clicked cups with Mandy, then turned to a newcomer and smiled gently, "My brother is here, gotta go."
Following Wendy's gaze, Mandy looked over. Carl Smith attended the banquet in a white suit. His face looked as handsome as that of Barry. Junior Master Smith was also quite favored by those women.
Compared with Lambert Family, Smith Family was equally powerful and superior to the Sherwood Family.
Wendy was a relative of Mrs. Smith's maternal sister-in-law and an orphan. When the daughter of Smith Family was gone, Mrs. Smith almost succumbed to grief.
Later, Wendy was brought in and adopted as her daughter for over a decade.
Although Wendy was not a biological daughter and genuine lady, she was the only girl in Smith Family and thus quite pampered.
To top it off, she was a kind girl. Therefore, those junior masters of the upper class also treated her nicely.
When Carl took a look at Mary, Wendy threw her hands around his arm, "Brother, are you interested in Mary?"
"Not really."
Carl soon drew back his eyes and indulgently stroked the head of his sister, "Have you taken a fancy to anyone? I can give you some advice."
Wendy blushed, "No, brother is the most handsome man beyond comparison."
"Silly girl, you will marry someone one day. Come on, I'll take you to see a few friends."
Carl couldn't help taking another glance at Mary.
He had seen Mary a few times. Every time he would feel strange and somehow find her familiar...
Barry never went downstairs. Clenching the card, Mandy raised her head and looked up from time to time.
Mary narrowed her eyes as if she had seen through something.
She turned around and walked to President Zimmer.
The man looked at her behind knitted brows.
Mary chuckled, "President Zimmer, thanks for your appreciation, but I want to have fun for a few more years and don't plan to get married. I apologize for the incident just now, please accept my toast of apology."
President Zimmer was surprised by her sudden apology. But when he saw her gentle smile, his brain was filled with lust, and he waved his hand, "It's okay, it's okay. As long as I could have the honor to dine with you, I would be quite content."
"Oops, I am sorry to spoil your dress."
When Mary was associating with President Zimmer, someone suddenly bumped into her, and a full cup of wine was spilled on her dress.
The girl who spilled the wine looked coquettish. With a spurious smile, she looked at Mary. There was a tinge of arrogance in her apologetic tone.
Mary narrowed her eyes, "It's okay."
Then, she asked the manager for a room card and went to a room upstairs to clean her clothes.
The interaction between Mary and President Zimmer was captured by Mandy.
Mandy crooked her finger toward a waiter. Lowering her head, she whispered something into his ear.
