Chapter 1 The Boss Was Reborn
"Bran, where have you been? I've been looking for you."
An aged man asked worriedly.
"Mr. Duncan, I went to find some fruit. Don't worry."
Mr. Duncan came over and held her little hand, "Let me take you home. I saw many people in your home, saying that they were about to pick you and your mother up to the city. Your mother has packed up already, but you were nowhere to find."
"Thank you, Mr. Duncan."
She was taken back to Hank's Mansion at about this period in her previous life.
As soon as she went home, a man wearing a black suit and sunglasses threw her into a car before she could ask anything.
And then she saw the amiable woman she had expected to see: Sophia McKenzie, her mother.
In case Brandi might be frightened, Sophia had her in her arms right after getting in the car.
Her soft voice still sounded pleasant, "We are going back to Hank's Mansion. You'll see your father there," Sophia confessed directly.
Sophia had never intended to keep it a secret to her daughter because she knew Brandi was a sensible girl.
It was a pity that when she realized that, Brandi had stopped asking anything about her father.
And that left her no chance to explain.
Brandi pretended to be confused, "Father?"
She had asked this question once when she was very young.
But seeing her mother crying, she decided not to do it again.
"That's right!" Sofia stroked her head, "Sorry I didn't tell you earlier."
Brandi leaned against her mother's chest, "Consider yourself forgiven, mom. I'll go wherever you go."
Sofia smiled at her but felt sorry inside. Brandi was supposed to question her or go crazy because of this.
But she was so quiet.
In Sofia's arms, there was a flash of sharpness in Brandi's eyes.
She was reborn in the year when she was 15, right before she and her mother were picked up at Hank's Mansion.
Her father was Christopher Hank, the third master of the Hank Family, and Brandi's mother was his college classmate. Things were messy before.
In a word, it was an accident that she was born, and her father didn't even know she existed.
Since her father went missing for a period, no one could tell if he was still alive.
Later, Madame Hank heard Brandi's story, so she insisted on taking her home so that her third son would have a child left in this family.
Sofia didn't survive a month in this place in her previous life because she got sick soon.
Now that Brandi had been reborn and her mother was still alive, she would keep her mother safe and prevent her from the bad people they were about to see.
The car stopped at the gate of Hank's Mansion.
The driver opened the door and said, "We're here."
They got off the car and saw an ancient and elegant mansion, Hank's Mansion.
Immediately afterward, they were greeted by a woman who had high-end clothes and delicate makeup.
She came over with passion, held Sofia's hand, and welcomed them in her croaky voice, "You must be Christopher's wife. I'm Shelia Gleason, the eldest daughter-in-law in our family. Please, call me Shelia."
Sophia didn't feel comfortable facing a stranger like this, but she forced a smile and said, "Hello, Shelia!"
After hearing this, Shelia wore a bigger smile, greeting Sophia as if they were quite familiar, "I love your skirt. I can't even tell if it's from the stall."
She showed her true colors immediately, seeming mean and evil as if it wasn't she who greeted Sophia warmly just now.
She then loosened Sophia's hand, wiped her hand with a handkerchief, and then threw it away.
When Sophia got off the car, she acted like a lady. But Shelia soon found that her clothes were not high-end, which convinced her that the woman just dirtied her hand.
If she was from the countryside, she was probably with some virus. Ew.
Shelia felt regret because she had expected too much. From what she had seen, Sophia was just an ordinary woman who looked pretty.
Brandi narrowed her eyes for a second and then opened them as if she hadn't noticed them.
Her bright eyes looked innocent, "That's right, ugly auntie. I can't tell your dress is customized by the Y Company, either."
Sophia looked much prettier than her, even if she only wore something cheap.
Compared to her, Shelia just made her clothes look cheaper, although she had labels.
