Chapter 12 So, It Was You

"You'll have a divorce. After all, I've had enough fun playing with you."

When she brought up the divorce the other day, he would not agree no matter what.

What made him suddenly change his mind?

Kimora didn't think much about it. Divorce meant her freedom anyway.

She had seen the real color of the Nieves and knew that she could never fit in. It was wise for her to leave early.

"Kimora, I can divorce you viper but on one premise. You'll leave without any property."

She was not surprised by his speech, but half of their joint property was rightfully hers. Why should she leave with nothing?

As she smiled, a flicker of sarcasm flashed across her eyes, "I'm not interested in anything owned by your family, but the part I deserve will be taken with me. If you refuse, the court summons will reach Harmony Garden."

Her interest was piqued when divorce was brought up.

It was not easy to convince Davian, so she should grasp the chance. Only she felt strange as Murphy was standing there.

Davian looked at her, his eyes tinted with rage, "Kimora, shame on you."

"You're nothing but a dirty woman who lost her virginity before the wedding. Yet you still have the nerve to ask for the property. I tell you what, you won't get a cent from me!"

Davian barked harshly. His fingernails dug deep into the flesh of his palms.

Losing her virginity before the wedding? Murphy pursed his lips and had a sudden flashback to that night when he was with Kimora.

The one-night stand happened such a long time ago that Kimora had forgotten.

"Mr. Nieves, is this how you bully women?" Murphy curled his lips and held her waist lightly. In reflex, she flinched and eyed the man in a panic.

Her heart thumped but soon went back to normal.

"Actually, it was me that night."

As soon as his voice died away, the other two looked over in unison. There was astonishment and panic in Davian's eyes. It seemed he had never expected this.

Kimora was stunned, "You? How is it possible!" Murphy smiled, dropped his mouth to her ear, and whispered something. Soon, her cheeks flushed.

She had mixed feelings. No wonder she found him so familiar.

Turned out he was the man who had a one-night stand with her.

Small world, wasn't it? River City was so small that such a coincidence could happen.

"Dr. Guthrie, this shows how deep our bond is." Murphy's voice was cool and meaningful. His cold eyes then looked over, "My relationship with Kimora is obvious. Mr. Nieves, if you still make things difficult, I'm afraid you won't have your way."

In terms of status in River City, three Nieves families could not match the Haney Family.

Davian fought back his anger, not daring to show his arrogance again. Not in his wildest dreams had he expected Kimora to hook up with such a man. He felt upset and depressed.

"I will draw up the divorce papers."

Davian said and hurried away like a dejected huckster.

Murphy helped her again, and Kimora was a little embarrassed.

"Thanks." She smiled politely, but soon her face became expressionless again. Not a word about that night was mentioned. She was surprised that the man back then should be Murphy. That night should be taken for a dream.

"I'm just curious why Davian called you a viper?"

His deep voice reached her ears. Kimora snapped back to her senses and showed a hint of displeasure on her face, "Can you believe him?"

"I'm easy-going, but it doesn't mean I don't have a temper. I never said I was kind."

Kimora said, ready to leave. No sooner had she taken a few steps than something occurred to her, "About that night…"
