It was a cool evening after the party. The Johnsons had left and everyone else who came had gone back to their various houses except for Alex Madison's friend.She was with her in her bedroom after the party.

"You can imagine the stunt he pulled. He just walked out without a reply. He even said I've grown!! That guy is a scum, babe" Madison said angrily as she adjusted the pillow on her lap.She had freshened up and changed into her nightwear.

"Come on girl, I know Jason very well. He's not that rude or maybe you were rude first" Alex refuted

"Don't tell me that lex, you know I can't be rude" Madison said in a rather high tone

"Babe for all I know, you are getting married to Jason. Come on, that guy is cute and every girl has been dying to get to him. Even some of the big girls back then at college are still coming back for Jason. He is every girl's dream," Alex said with a charming smile on her small lips.

"Not for me," Madison said, scratching her hair. "I don't care if he's got the whole ladies in Lagos city fighting over him, I don't like him and I've got someone else who is more handsome and he compliments me. He is so intelligent unlike that dullard Jason" She said with Sarcasm and Alex laughed.

"Hey, Jason's no longer a dullard ok? He owns one of the biggest boutiques in Lagos city, one in the US, and he even runs a fashion show. He is a big boy now," Alex said with excitement.

"So I heard, but I'm not interested in all of that" Madison said, looking uninterested

"You have to listen to your parents Mad," Alex advised in a calm tone

"Listen to my parents and then displease myself or what?" Madison asked angrily

Just then, the door of the bedroom opened showing Mrs Thompson. "Alex, can you please excuse Mad for a while? Her father wants to speak to her" Mrs Thompson said from the door.

"Oh yes mother," Alex said and Madison stood up and walked out of the room.

She followed her mother down stairs to meet her dad who was sitting on his favorite sofa at his favorite spot. He was holding an old magazine which he quickly closed on sighting them

"Hey daughter, how have you been?" he asked smiling

"Fine dad," Madison repliee tiredly as she sat on the sofa opposite her father. Her mom sat close to her.

"I hope you enjoyed your day?" He asked

"Yeah kind of" she replied.

"Were you and Jason able to have a nice discussion?" he asked

"No!, " she replied at once. Her parents looked at her

"Yes," she said again, knowing what their looks were all about. Her parents smiled

"So what did he say? Does he like you? Or is he coming for the preparations soon?" Her mom asked excitedly

"Mom, you have to be easy on me. Jason and I didn't talk about all that stuff, he only told me he doesn't like me and doesn't want to get married to me!" Madison said in a rather high tone

"Uhhhhh!!" Her parents exclaimed in unison. Their facial expressions changed at once.

"Don't worry, with time ok? He will love you and you will love him too" her dad assured with a smile.

"That's not possible dad, I can't marry him. He is rude, he doesn't have respect for ladies, he talks to me the way he wants!!" Madison flared

"No Jason isn't a rude type, maybe you were rude first" her mom refuted

"No, that's not true!!. Mom, dad, I can't marry Jason. I have someone I want to marry!!" She blurted out

Silence fell into the room and Mr Thompson looked at his wife

"But you never told us" he said, turning to Madison

"Yeah, cause I was waiting for the right time, which is after I finish schooling. I was about to bring him home before this whole Jason saga came up" she said, scratching her hair gently.

"We don't know that man dear, and we would never recognize him" her mom said in a rather high tone

"Mom, you can't do that!!" Madison yelled. He is coming to Nigeria anytime soon to meet you both!! " She added, almost in tears.

"Any man you bring home from this minute, will only be recognized as a friend" Mr Thompson pointed out

"This is unfair!!" Madison cried as she stood up angrily and she walked out to her room.

Alex was on call with her husband when Madison walked in crying

"What is the matter?" She asked after the call was hung up.

Madison sniffed and wiped the tears off her face.

"I won't marry Jason and it's final!" She yelled.

At the Johnsons mansion that evening,a heated argument was brewing up between Jason and his parents.

"Mom, dad, that girl doesn't even suit me. She is too well reserved for my liking and she has no sense of fashion!" Jason said angrily as he paced around the living room

"And that is what makes her a good woman for you Jason,not all those girls that you flirt with who can use a whole foundation and lipstick in just one day yet they are not even as beautiful as Madison. Or is it those girls that wear skimpy dresses exposing their stinky stretch marks bodies, are those the real girls you want uh?!! Madison is unique, she is intelligent and has everything it takes to keep a man!!" Mrs Johnson explained as she walked towards him.

"You see those girls' son, they ain't serious with you. They're just gonna flirt and have fun with you then when your pocket is empty they'll run away. You need a girl we can trust, someone who can stand for you no matter what. Not someone who would be after your money. And you see son, Madison is the right type of woman," Mr Johnson added.

"Dad I have someone I Want to marry. You might have seen her with me a couple of times and though I've not officially introduced her to you, I want to do that now" Jason said, turning to face his parents.

"You're so funny son," Mr Johnson said and let out a chuckle

"We won't recognize any other woman except for Madison" Mrs Johnson added

"Then watch me mom, watch me dad," He said, turning to walking out angrily

"Don't forget you are going out with Madison tomorrow, so get prepared!!" Mrs Johnson called out after him.

Jason stopped in front of the door and looked back. He bit his lips so hard and without a single word, he walked out.
