Chapter 6 You're Fine, But the Baby is Not Good
Aunt was after all a woman. She reached out to hold Sophia's hand when she saw Randal's scary look.
Sophia looked at Aunt who was worried, and then glanced at her grandfather who was in critical condition. Hence, she stared at Randal, scolding, "If you keep messing around, I will call the police and tell them that you make grandfather die of anger! Then, I'll call the press to tell reporters that here is an exclusive news. A veteran who fought Anti-Japanese War died of anger because his unfilial son went after his properties before his death. It will surely draw people's attention!"
Randal had no father's authority in front of Sophia, because he had never fulfilled his duty as a father in these years. Once, when her family had trouble making a living, Sophia went to him and asked for some life expenses. He didn't give her anything. Moreover, he slapped her.
However, Randal raised up the mistress's daughter and spoiled her. Sophia had made an oath a long time ago: I would never admit that he was my father!
Sophia's word immediately silenced the family of three!
Randal turned his eyes to his father in the bed, with his steps wincing.
Lettice saw his behavior, saying angrily, "Bad girl, stop scaring us! Randal, give her a lesson!"
Sophia moved her eyes and had a great idea in the crisis. She took out her phone rapidly and called, "Hello, is it 110 (Chinese version of 911)?"
"You... hand over your phone!" Randal, furious as he was, went to grab Sophia's phone.
Sophia dodged Randal and ran to the other side of the bed. Aunt saw her action and stopped him.
"Second brother, if you don't leave now, I'll tell the press that you're agents of an insurance company. No one would buy insurance from you two ungrateful persons!" Aunt pointed at Randal, threatening him.
Randal and Lettice looked at each other, knowing that they would get nothing but endless trouble by staying here.
Therefore, Lettice assessed the situation and decided to retreat for now. She raised her jaw and said, "I'm tired today. I'll deal with you another day!"
Lettice bluffed and left in a flurry.
Randal and Penny followed her steps.
After they left, Sophia took a long breath, thinking, "If we get into a fight, Aunt and I will definitely suffer a great loss."
Aunt held Sophia's hand and said, "Sophia, we're lucky that you came today. Otherwise, your Uncle and I would be bullied by them."
Sophia opened her mouth, but gasped due to a sudden pain in her lower abdomen, with her face turning pale.
"Sophia, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, I'm... a little uncomfortable." Sophia's forehead started sweating.
"You should go home and get some rest. Your Uncle and I can stay here with your grandfather." Aunt urged her to leave.
"Well... I'll go now." Sophia then left the ward.
Once Sophia walked out of the residence department, she reached out to lean against the wall, as the pain in her lower abdomen was severe.
"Did I bump my abdomen onto the bed rail and get hurt? I'm not fragile. Why am I hurt easily?" Sophia thought.
Sophia thought the pain would be eased as long as she got some rest, but the pain kept coming. She felt so uncomfortable that she had to struggle to walk to the emergency room.
After a series of complicated examinations, Sophia lay on the bed, with a pale face. She looked at the female doctor and asked in a hurry, "Doctor, I was hit earlier. Did I get hurt?"
The female doctor was writing the case report while answering, "You're fine, but the baby is not good. You need to be admitted to the hospital to save the baby!"
"Save what?" Sophia was confused, thinking, "I don't have any baby!"
