Chapter 3 Behind the Calmness

"Have you heard about it, KING was hit to injure last night at the Thyssen Hotel."

"Sure, it was said that it had been reported to the police and they had cordoned off the scene. I want to know which one is not afraid to die and dare to hit that man."

"It was said to be a woman."

"......."

As Sophie as she returned to the office in the morning, Sophie heard all kinds of rumors about the man.

"Sophie, come to my office for a while." Just as Sophie was apprehensive in her heart about whether or not she would be found out about injuring Simon, a solemnly stereotypical voice suddenly came into her ears.

Sophie snapped back and her face turned pale as she looked in the direction of the voice.

The woman in her thirties was dressed in a black suit, with her hair combed meticulously behind her head and a palm-sized face with a pair of gold-rimmed glasses that made her whole person look more majestic and capable.

Lowering her head, Sophie picked up a manuscript on the table in her hands and walked over.

The door to the room had just closed when the colleagues outside started talking again.

Sophie, a very wealthy young lady, who had endless money, had become a paparazzi in a newspaper company.

Many of her colleagues in the company did not understand Sophie.

Entering the office, Sophie nudged her mouth and asked in a small voice, "What's the matter, editor-in-chief ?"

"You went to the Thyssen Hotel yesterday." Vivian's voice remained as stereotypical and plain as her, saying in an affirmative tone rather than a questioning sentence.

The leaders knew Sophie's visit to the Thyssen Hotel yesterday.

Sophie nodded, subconsciously clutching the folder in her hand.

This move of her naturally did not escape from Vivian's eyes. She coldly swept a glance at the small hands that clutched the folder tightly, and she hooked her lips and laughed coldly, "You did not get the information that should be obtained."

"Sorry." Sophie bowed her head again.

"Sorry? You think saying sorry will help? A word of apology will offset the mistakes you've made? Or do you think that because you came in through the Miller Family's connections, it doesn't matter even if you make mistakes?" Vivian's words were rather mean and unrelentingly humiliated Sophie.

Sophie's face changed slightly, "Please don't relate it with my family, I was wrong about this matter, you can either punish me or expel me, but please don't relate this kind of thing with my family."

Vivian looked at Sophie coldly and calmly waited for her to finish before showing a mocking smile: "I don't dare to fire you, go back and write a review of two thousand words."

Sophie walked out of Vivian's office, her fingers still clutching the document tightly.

The colleagues outside looked at each other with a gloating look on their faces.

Without a word, Sophie returned to her seat, opened the document, and looked at the blank document. But her mind was blank.

The people around her were still talking about something, but Sophie couldn't hear a word of it.

K-Emperor Group, Office of the President.

The man with the white bandage on his forehead sat behind his desk with a cold face. Even with the unsightly white bandage on his head, it did not affect the imperial aura from his body.

"Young Master, that woman's background has been checked out. She was Sophie Miller from Miller Family in City A, now working as a trainee reporter for the Mango Entertainment Newspaper, what happened yesterday should have been just an accident." The middle-aged man in the black suit pushed the glasses on his face and said calmly, telling the emperor-like man what he had just investigated.

"The Miller Family?" Simon's good-looking brow frowned, with a trace of arrogant contempt under his eyes, "Acquire the company she was in."

"Yes." The middle-aged man nodded without any objection, recording something on the notebook in his hand.

"And that Samantha Brown, I don't want to see this woman in City A again in the future." She poisoned him. It could be unforgivable!

Simon's aura suddenly became fierce, and his eyes carried a cold killing intent.

The middle-aged man's spine straightened even more, "Yes."

"Arrange for me to meet with the head of the Miller Family." Simon's fingers gently tapped the desktop and the woman's frightened eyes like a small deer kept emerging in his mind. And she unceremoniously gave him a harsh hit. His voice remained cold without any temperature.

The middle-aged man hesitated, the movement in his hands did not pause, and his voice came calmly, "Okay."

The girl, who was struggling with how to write the review, suddenly felt a chill behind her back and had a sharp shiver, so she subconsciously felt the position of her chest. At that moment, she seemed to feel her heart beating very fast. It was like the feeling when she first saw the man in the hotel.

At the thought of that man, Sophie's face shifted again viciously, then shrugged her head hard, attempting to shake off that part of the upset in her heart.

It was too quiet. It had been two days since this happened to the man, and this quietness, on the contrary, made Sophie more and more uneasy, as if there were some conspiracies quietly unfolding where she could not see it.
