Chapter 4 Feeling of Conspiracy
The cell phone on the desk suddenly rang.
After being startled by the ringing of her cell phone, Sophie reached out to pick it up.
At first glance, it read "Mommy", and Sophie stared at the phone for two seconds before pressing the answer.
The woman had never made her feel warm and her calling would certainly not be any good things.
"Hey, what's up?" Sophie's cold voice startled even herself.
"Sophie, come home for dinner tonight, Mommy made your favorite dish." The woman on the other end of the phone, whose appearance was partly similar to Sophie's, flashed a glimmer of imperceptible cruelty under her eyes, and then she smiled kindly and gently like a good mother.
Sophie held the phone tightly, but only responded, "OK."
"Remember to come home early, your dad said he hadn't seen you for days and everyone missed you." The woman still had that kind of smile, looked at the man standing not far away with a cold and hard face, and then looked at the teenager of about seventeen or eighteen years old sitting on the couch not far from the man. The smile under her eyes turned deeper.
"Anything else?" Sophie frowned slightly as she listened to the hypocritical words.
It was like kidding, how could the man who unceremoniously kicked her out of the Miller Family possibly miss her?
She vaguely already smelled a conspiracy.
"Is Sophie still blaming Mom and Dad?" Even across the phone, Sophie could picture the woman with a hurt look on her face, a hypocritical look that made her feel a little disgusting.
"I'll hang up if there is nothing." Sophie directly hung up the phone and held it for a long time before frowning slightly.
What the hell were these two guys up to? Was she still having some utilities?
From the time she was kicked out of the Miller Family at the age of eighteen by the man known as her father, Sophie didn't feel like she had any connection to that family.
Holding the phone and fidgeting for a moment, Sophie's attention was again drawn to the two thousand word review.
Her slender fingers landed on the white keyboard, and the fingers danced nimbly on the keyboard, which was pleasing to the eye.
On the blank document, one black word after another quickly came out.
The corners of Sophie's mouth turned a little wider.
In the Miller Family, the hall was too quiet.
Carl Miller sat on the sofa. Not much look could be seen on his cold face.
Emma Hall returned to his side after the call and sat down, poured him a cup of tea, before casually asking, "Why did you suddenly call that girl home? Is there something going on?"
Carl glanced at his wife beside him and nodded, "Someone wants to see her."
"Oh?" Emma was a bit surprised but didn't ask too much.
On the side, Kevin Miller frowned, "Who wants to see sister?"
Carl just glanced at him, obviously not wanting to say anything.
He hadn't come back to his senses until now as the man from the David Empire, wanted to meet with Sophie, and had made an appointment to meet at their house...
With Simon's ability, it shouldn't be difficult to investigate and find out that Sophie had left the Miller Family for a long time.
"Make arrangements, the people who come in the evening are not a small figure." Looking at Emma, who was pouring tea with a drooping eye, Carl opened his mouth lightly.
Emma smiled and nodded, looking as if she was a good wife and mother, and got up and went to arrange everything.
Kevin Miller frowned and glanced at his father with a blank look.
"Dad, I'm going up to review." The seventeen-year-old boy was already 1.8 meters in height, his appearance was inherited from his father, and he was handsome with a bit of coldness and perseverance, especially the deep eyes, even at a young age, still sparkled with an imperceptible light.
Carl didn't pay him much attention, and now all his mind was occupied with the matter that Simon was suddenly wanting to see Sophie.
How could that god-like man suddenly want to see Sophie?
Thinking the possibility that was only a small chance, Carl Miller felt a bit unacceptable in his heart.
Sophie was no longer involved with the Miller Family, yet Carl had no idea why she hooked up with the man.
The legendary emperor of City A, the young master of the David Empire, the most valuable golden bachelor in the entire country Z and even in Asia.
Sophie had no idea about what the Miller Family was thinking about. After the review was completed and handed over to Vivian, she was given a task...to use all means to get an interview with Simon.
Everyone knew that Simon never accepted any media coverage.
How could Vivian ask her to interview this man?
At that moment, Sophie even suspected that Vivian already knew that she was the woman who had injured Simon.
Returning to her seat, she took the pen and bit it. Sophie had a few tangles in her eyes.
She was just a trainee journalist who had worked in the Mango Newspaper for less than a month and had already screwed up the missions for three times, and if she failed again this time, she didn't doubt she'd be dismissed.
Although she had no sense of belonging or love for the job, journalism.
