Chapter 6 Be a Good Boy

Winter was overcome with anxiety. Mr. Lloyd was like a volcano threatening to erupt at any moment!

To deal with such a man, she needed more patience than normal. To the sick, she was never lack of patience.

"Mister, I know that you don't like strangers to draw close and thus shoved and bit me, but we are not strangers. Starting today, I'll be your closest person. We've claimed the marriage certificates. Do you have a concept of it? It means we are legally married and family. I come here just to take care of you, and you don't need to be scared. I'll not hurt you!"

Winter's voice was soft and slow as if she was talking to a three-year-old child.

Miraculously, Etan's furrowed eyebrows slowly spread, and the strangeness and hostility in his eyes began to fade away.

It seemed her trick of conciliation worked. As long as she was patient enough, he would gradually cooperate.

"Now let's have dinner, okay? As long as you eat on time, you will recover. Come, good boy!" Winter scooped a mouthful of rice and handed it to him with a shaky hand. She was afraid that he would knock it over.

He looked at Winter suspiciously, his face filled with distrust.

Winter smiled and tried to look natural.

Her smile was always harmless and appealing.

"Here, good boy, open your mouth!" Winter encouraged him patiently.

Etan somehow showed no sign of refusal.

Etan gently put the dish in his mouth.

While chewing, he still fixed his obsidian eyes on Winter, and there was still a hint of vigilance.

"Great, good job, again!" Winter was motivated to see him finally having his meal and encouraged him again.

Without her notice, he somehow ate most of the rice in the bowl and then refused to have more. It brought Winter a sense of achievement. As long as she did it nicely and slowly, it would work.

"Do you really have enough?" Asked Winter.

Etan slowly shook his head.

"Okay, your call!" Winter stood up with a relaxed expression, gave him an encouraging smile, and gently stroked his head like a little animal.

Etan's eyebrows immediately knitted, and Winter flinched hurriedly in fear. It seemed that he didn't like others to touch his head.

"I'll clean up the dishes!" Winter walked to the door, opened it, and found Chester quickly darting to the side with an awkward expression.

He was eavesdropping? But it was normal since she was new here. It was reasonable for the Lloyd Family to be wary of her.

"Mr. Scott, mister ate most of the meal, please take them away." Winter handed the tray to Chester.

Chester looked incredulously at the few leftovers in the bowl, "Is this really left by mister?"

Apparently, he didn't believe her.

"Mr. Scott, if you don't believe me, you can get in for a look. Mister is well-behaved now!"

A flash of relief crossed Chester's straight face. He knew about the young lady's skills but hadn't expected her to treat mister so patiently. She was commendable.

Normally, it was almost impossible to feed Mr. Lloyd. He would knock over the bowls several times and only eat under patient comfort. The new lady was so skilled that she coaxed the same man who rejected and bit her into having half a bowl of food. This was incredible.

"Oh, that won't be necessary, madam. Lunch is prepared for you in the kitchen. Would you like to eat outside or have it in the room?"

Winter wanted to eat outside but felt worried to leave Etan alone after a glance at the man, "Sorry to bother you, Mr. Scott. Please bring it over, I need to take care of mister!"

Chester hummed with commendation in his eyes.
