Chapter 6 Go Our Separate Ways
"Ha!" Judie got rid of his grip and sneered, "It was your business. I don't care! We've broken up. So, stay far away from me."
Eric looked at her woefully, "Judie, I told you I wasn't serious with other women. You're the one I love. I'm of the Shield, a rich powerful family, and I have no choice. I swear I will never betray you. Don't be stubborn, OK?"
"Shameless!"
Judie had never thought Eric could go over the matter so naturally and easily like it was so ordinary.
It was ridiculous for Judie to be his mistress while he married the first socialite of South City.
Was it because she was born into an ordinary family that she was not good enough for the Shield's son, one of the top three families in South City?
She could not accept it.
She could not suffer such humiliation.
Judie looked at him with her already red eyes, "Eric Shield, I take that two years being with you as a waste of time. Please stay away from me."
"Judie, you know that I love you. Adelyn is only a ladder for me to climb up to higher status. Don't be that stubborn." Eric looked helpless.
Stubborn?
She was stubborn because she refused to be his secret mistress?
In front of this shameless guy, Judie thought she must have been blind in the last two years.
Judie had already given him up. She looked at Eric with her steely eyes and said, "Listen, Eric! I've married. We're done and go our separate ways."
Judie trotted away.
"Judie."
Eric chased after her hurriedly and knocked a man down. The man did not let him go; he could only let Judie run away.
After she ran across a couple of blocks, she held onto a tree, out of breath. "Judie, you have been done with him," she said to herself, chewing on her lip.
She told herself not to care about it. However, her heart ached so badly that she could hardly breathe.
Now she realized that love was nothing when it came to money.
He was so nice to her during the two years they were together. She thought he was the one. However, things turned out contrary to her wishes.
Since she was now Charles Shield's wife, they really went on their separate ways. She could only have Charles in her heart.
Judie wandered for another while and took a cab home after she was calmed.
The cab stopped before a luxurious villa. Judie got off after she paid the fare. She stood before the gate and raised her head, staring at nothing.
It was a newly built three-floor villa in European style, very gorgeous and luxurious. The garden before the entrance courtyard was beautiful and neat because of the work of gardeners. There were servants to take care of everything. Judie could not have imagined her life would like this a month ago.
So much had happened this summer.
After she found Eric had betrayed her, her idle father was in debt to loan sharks for gambling and hid away. Those guys went to university for Judie because they could not find her father.
Judie could not pay the debt, and they sold her to someone in a disreputable area. It was lucky that she came across Charles Shield.
Charles saved her on the condition that she marry him.
That was far better than being sold to a disreputable place. Judie agreed without hesitation and became Mrs. Shield.
