Chapter 9 She Needs Time to Get Ready
Judie walked towards the wheelchair, straightened it up, and then went close to a wall and turned the air conditioner down by one degree.
"Take a nap, Charles. I'm off to read a book," Judie said.
Charles opened his icy eyes. His thin sexy lips were slightly apart, "Come over here."
That surprised Judie.
Usually, when Charles was taking a nap, she went to the study to read.
"OK," she nodded, "I change my clothes first."
Charles closed his eyes slowly without responding.
Judie put on another blouse and made sure every button fastened. Then she laid her curl light brown hair on her chest. In case any button would loosen, her hair might help, she thought.
Judie seldom wore blouses because her above-average bust made some buttons loosen easily. However, she had to wear one tonight for her other clothes could not cover her collar bone.
She went to the TV stand to pick up a book then lay down next to Charles.
His light minty scent smelled good.
She opened the book.
"Oh!"
Charles, who had closed his eye, suddenly pulled her to his arms. Judie screamed in fright. The book fell on the floor.
Charles frowned and put his handsome face to her sexy collarbone, and his long arm encircled her waist, like holding a throw pillow.
Judie's heart was pounding. She could saw his nice straight nose next to her neck. She looked the other way and stretched her arm to press the button for motorized curtains. The curtains closed, and the room was dark.
Judie half lay and kept still.
She could hear her heartbeat out of rhythm.
Why was he so close to her today?
Usually, each of them slept on one side of the bed. The big bed guaranteed that they never touch each other for the whole night.
"Why not wear the robe?" Charles seemed to felt uncomfortable with the texture of the blouse when rubbing her shoulder with his head.
His voice sounded icy and picky.
Judie looked down, and she could only see his facial contour now that the room was dark. "Uh, I'm on my period, and I'm afraid of soiling the bed."
After the first lie was told, more lies would come after.
"Women are troublesome," he said with disdain.
Judie did not reply.
Charles was still holding her. The itchy feeling of his breath on her neck made her tense.
After a while, Charles' breath became calm and even, and she fell asleep.
In the dark, Charles woke up, undid the first three buttons of her blouse, and pulled her blouse. Then he put his head on her shoulder again. At this time, he could touch her skin. It was so soft as silk.
He took a deep breath. The blood in his body ran fast.
"Seven days," He said to himself. "for her to get ready."
...
It was almost dusk when Judie woke up. Charles had already left the room. She sat up and turned on the light to check her clothes.
It was good that her clothes were fine except for a few wrinkles.
She got off the bed, washed up, and went downstairs.
Charles was watching TV in the living room.
"It was reported that Jimmy Smith, the president of the SQ group, which is one of the top ten companies in the world, arrived in South City. Rumor has it that he planned to put down roots in South City, and the mayor of South City gave a reception in honor of him, and many entrepreneurs are wooing him."
"There is another rumor that Smith returned from abroad to marry Adelyn Georgia, the first socialite of South City. However, according to our reporter, Miss Georgia seemed to be dating the son of the Shield Family, the old money of South City."
