"Time for breakfast." Mike Johnson ignored the woman's words and repeated his instruction. He then took a sip of the white wine in his hand, and his Adam's apple gracefully rolled up and down.

Hank Cook walked into the living hall and smiled at the woman, "Miss Miller, Mr. Johnson will protect you, so all you have to do is to listen to him."

Mary Miller nodded and walked to the dining room.

After breakfast, she followed Mike into his car and went to Frank Wood's place.

Hank was the driver as usual, and both Mike and Mary were sitting in the back seats.

Feeling somewhat nervous in front of Mike, Mary leaned against the window.

It took them half an hour to arrive at Frank's house, and the man and the woman did not exchange any word on the way.

Mary opened the door by herself and got out of the car.

She then walked slowly towards her uncle's place. Frank was the owner of a small company. Though his house was not comparable to a grand villa, it was an independent, lovely house with a decent location and fair interior decoration.

"Miss Miller." Mrs. Ward was surprised to see the woman. She looked back and then whispered to Mary, "Why are you here? You shouldn't have come back."

"No worries, Mrs. Ward," replied Mary.

Mrs. Ward then noticed Mike and Hank, the former's young assistant, coming towards them.

"Who are you?"

"Mrs. Ward, are there any guests?" Mia ran out of the house, and her eyes immediately lit up when she saw Mary. She shouted, "Mom, mom, Mary is back."

For Anna Lee, Mary meant five million yuan. She dashed out to the yard, her eyes shining as if there were a gold mine in her front.

Upon hearing Mia's shout, the other members of the Wood Family all came out.

"Mary, you're back." Frank greeted his niece and then noticed the man behind her.

Mike was wearing a black handmade suit, giving off an extraordinary vibe. Frank pointed at him and exclaimed, "Aren't you President Johnson?"

Recently, there were lots of reports of Mike in the news. Therefore, Frank recognized him at first glance.

"He is really the president of the Johnson Group." Mia shrieked. She had also read news about the handsome man before her eyes.

Frank and his family warmly welcomed Mike and the others in the house.

"Mary, why didn't you tell me that you know President Johnson earlier? Mr. Johnson, please sit down. Mrs. Ward, make us some tea, please."

Frank tried hard to please Mike.

Mary was expressionless, and Mike stood still, ignoring the man who was kissing his butt.

Frank felt slightly embarrassed.

Hank said, "Well, as you can see, Young Master Mike is here because of Miss Miller. We want to know how much money Eric Carter has given you to make you guys push Miss Miller to him."

Frank looked at Mary, the look in his eyes becoming more embarrassed.

Anna Lee took a step forward, interrupting, "We're not pushing Mary to some lousy man but wanted to marry her into a wealthy family for her own good."

Both Mia and her sister Grace Wood were staring at the delicate dress on Mary, jealously wondering since when she had gotten to know such a powerful, good-looking man.

Mike furrowed his brows and repeated his assistant's question, "How much money has Eric Carter transferred to you?"

Frank cast a glance at his niece and asked the man, "President Johnson, you don't like Mary, do you?"

At the words, Mary lifted her head to look at Mike, her heart pounding violently.
