Chapter 10 Visiting the Goodwin Family
"Are you a man or not? How come I, a weak girl, to carry so many bags?" When she went shopping with Lydia, the latter always treated her like a precious baby. She just had to enjoy herself with delicacies and other stuff. It was Lydia who would carry the bags even though she was on her twelve-centimeter hells.
Lucas snorted, "You? A weak girl? You can easily knock down even a tough guy over 1.8 meters tall. Why didn't I see that you were weak?"
"Anyway, I am a girl. You are not a man!" Carrying so many bags was not only tiring but also eye-catching. Mollie guessed those people must find her funny.
Lucas opened the vehicle's trunk, put in those bags, then opened the door to push her in, and whispered in her ear, "You think I am not a man? Well, I don't mind if you come to verify it tonight."
Mollie was not a three-year-old baby girl and naturally knew what the man meant by "verify it." After gritting her teeth and cursing him inwardly, she fastened the seat belt and shut up obediently.
The Mansion of the Goodwin Family was located in a suburban area surrounded by mountains and rivers, covering 2 square kilometers.
After entering the gate, one would see a vast central square. Three circular fountains were crowded against one another and surrounded by various kinds of flowers.
Further forward, there were six four-story European-style villas, each with a distance of 100 meters in between. Stanley and his wife lived in the middle one, while the other five belonged to their five children.
There was a baseball field, golf course, outdoor swimming pool, and other places for exercising or entertainment behind the villa.
Beyond that, there was an elegant, antique garden with rockery, flowing water, pavilions, and an artificial lake. The scenery was gorgeous and impressive.
Lucas first took Mollie to his own villa. The servant Mrs. Garcia greeted Mollie with a smile, "Madam, the room is ready for you. Please come with me."
Mollie followed her up to the fourth floor and walked into a spacious, comfortable room about seventy square meters.
The overall tone of the room happened to be the light blue that she liked. The bed was two-meter wide with a girly-like lace bed curtain hanging about. Upon the small desk, there were blooming camellia, which made the room appear exquisite and graceful.
Mollie was most satisfied with the floor-to-ceiling windows, and through the glass door next to it, she could enter a large platform and enjoy an extensive view.
"Mr. Goodwin asked us to arrange all this for you several days ago. You are now the hostess of the house. Feel free to tell me if you need anything."
Mollie flashed a friendly smile, saying, "Alright, Mrs. Garcia."
She arranged the newly bought clothes and put them in the closet. Then she picked a light blue knee-length dress that she liked relatively and put it on. After that, she combed a lady's hairstyle, walked out of the room, and knocked on Lucas's door next to her own bedroom.
Lucas's eyes lit up as he saw Mollie after opening the door. In his impression of the woman, she was either unyielding or willful. It was the first time he saw her gentle and feminine side.
He thought to himself, "Well, it seems that my wife is quite changeable and malleable."
Mollie stared at the silent man and said, "I'm ready. Let's go."
"Okay." Lucas nodded and took her hand downstairs.
