Chapter 15 In the Cafe
Totally irritated by Sara's resistance, Kent slapped her face. "Don't you love me? Don't you want to be the real Mrs. Fitch? Don't pretend to be pure!"
With red eyes, she glared at him like an injured beast. She growled, "Kent Fitch, you're not eligible to insult me like this! All these years, you have affairs one after another. Do you think you're clean?"
Infuriated, he tore her shirt rudely with both hands. All the buttons on it popped, revealing a sight that amazed him.
This was his first time being so close to her. Only then did he find her faint fragrance. Unlike that of perfume and makeup, the scent on her was pleasant and fresh.
Seeing his slightly narrowed eyes, Sara wasn't glad at all. Instead, she felt awkward and bitter.
"Kent Fitch, let go of me... Emm..." Before she could finish her words, he covered her mouth with his. She struggled and wanted to push him away, but he kissed her crazily as if bewitched.
There was a faint smell of perfume in the air. She knew it was Janet's. Thinking of what she had seen in the living room, she felt like vomiting. When he forced his tongue into her mouth, she bit it hard...
The taste of blood spread in their mouths. Kent gasped with pain and moved away from her red lips. When he looked at her, his eyes became cold again.
He snorted. "Aren't you reluctant to divorce? As my wife, shouldn't you perform your duty?" Then, he tended to rip off her pajamas with overwhelming strength. Bashful and angry, she yelled in a sobbing voice, "Kent Fitch, let go of me! Don't touch me with your dirty hands that touched Janet Fitch! Get away from me!"
Hearing Janet's name, the man, who had been carried away by lust, suddenly came to his senses.
He rose and looked down at the tearful woman on the bed. Thinking that he almost lost his control before her, he felt a pang of regret. Sulkily, he said, "Whether you agree or not, I'll divorce you." Then, he left without looking back and slammed the door.
Sara curled up her trembling body, letting tears run down her face and wet her hair.
When she got up the next morning, Kent had left the villa. A servant said he had gone to the company. After breakfast, she was called over to a corner by Janet. "Go to the cafe this afternoon. I have something to tell you."
"I'm busy," Sara refused directly. It was a no-brainer to know what Janet would say.
But Janet seemed to have anticipated Sara's answer. Calmly, she smiled. "Don't you want to know why he proposed to you and married you? I can tell you the answer. It's up to you whether to come or not."
Sara finally went to the cafe. Although she had guessed the answer, she still wanted to confirm it.
In the exquisitely-decorated cafe, Janet was sitting near the French window. As golden sunlight lit up her charming face, she was just like a beauty walking out from a painting.
There was a glint of mockery in her eyes as she saw Sara's white T-shirt and light blue jeans.
Even after marrying into a rich family, Sara still looked like Cinderella who didn't know how to dress herself. How could such a woman match Kent? However, she had a clean and comely face. Although she didn't flatter herself with makeup, her skin was as smooth as a shelled boiled egg.
Janet took a sip of coffee and looked at Sara. "Actually, Kent and I are not related by blood. I was adopted."
That didn't surprise Sara much. After knowing who Kent liked, she had thought about this possibility.
"We've been in love since years ago. But when grandpa found it, he flew into a rage. He said I was Kent's sister and couldn't be with him. Then, he put pressure on us in all possible ways, and I was forced to go abroad."
Janet gazed at the expressionless woman before her and sneered. "It was also grandpa who forced Kent to propose to you. If Kent didn't marry you, grandpa would drive me out of the family. So Kent married you also because of me. Although we've been separated for three years, we still love each other very much. This time, we're determined to stay with each other." After saying that, she watched Sara's face closely.
Sara bit her lip as she stared at Janet. Her body stiffened slightly, pain sweeping over her body.
Getting no response, Janet knew she had managed to provoke Sara. So she continued, "I believe Kent has told you he wants to divorce you, right? Sara White, you're merely a steward's daughter and don't deserve to be Mrs. Fitch. You'd better agree to divorce. It's not good for anyone if you put it off like this." Janet revealed a triumphant smile. She seemed confident that Sara would do as she told.
Anger accumulating in her chest, Sara pulled a long face and said in a flat tone, "What do you take me for? Something you can use and then kick away at will? Janet Fitch, I told Kent last night that I wouldn't divorce!"
Janet was surprised by Sara's stubbornness. Her face went red with embarrassment and rage, and her voice also became sharp. "You're so thick-skinned. You badger Kent even if you know he doesn't like you! No wonder he says you're a shameless bitch!"
"I'm a bitch? Then who are you? You know grandpa won't let you be together, but you still go against his will. Have you ever thought of his feelings? Besides, I'm Kent's legal wife. As long as I don't divorce, don't imagine that you can be Mrs. Fitch!" Sara snapped.
Janet hadn't expected that Sara, who looked fragile, would be so sharp-tongued. Trembling with anger, she lifted her cup and poured the coffee onto Sara's face. "Shameless bitch! I don't bother to talk to you anymore. Kent has a way to divorce you." After saying that, she left in a huff.
Sara's face and clothes were both stained with coffee. Seeing that, a waiter hurried over and asked, "Madam, are you all right?"
Sara shook her head stiffly and took out a tissue to wipe the coffee on her face. After paying the bill, she walked toward the door in a daze.
"Ah..." After a few steps, she bumped into something tough. The pain on her nose almost made her tears run down.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to..." She took a step back hurriedly and looked at the man before her. But then, she was stunned. It was him again?
