Chapter 5 Faking Memory Loss

Mervyn sneered. Somehow, he became a pimp? And his 'service fee' was unpaid?

Harriet wrote so many words but didn't leave her WeChat ID!

And what was this damn appellation? Sir? This woman was faking memory loss?

After five years, she already forgot him?

This was outrageous!

Mervyn narrowed his eyes, "Richard, dig her out!"

"Yes, sir."

...

Harriet retrieved her wallet and cell phone at the reception of the club.

Along the way, she recalled what happened last night and decided to buy some postcoital contraceptives.

There was a pharmacy at the entrance of her residence.

She bought the medicine and went back to her apartment.

Aching all over, she sat down on the sofa with water in her hands, took out the medicine, and got ready to take it. The man from last night crossed her mind.

His breathing, heartbeat, and lean body touched by her fingertips brought her an unprecedented experience. All night long, the man seemed inexhaustible, and her bones almost shattered...

Her cheeks burned with shame. It was unbelievable that she did that with him.

She liked Steve so much but still couldn't do it.

Although the entire process was painful, the man's kissing, hugging, but touching didn't make her sick nor make her stomach churn. Wasn't it strange?

According to the psychiatrist, her resistance to copulation arose from a knot in her heart.

Gee, did that man have anything to do with her knot?

Harriet shook her head. How was it possible?

Despite her drunkenness, she had a vague impression of that man's face... It was a quite handsome one, but she had never seen him before!

She shook her head and put her thought to a stop.

Harriet raised her head and swallowed the medicine.

...

Early in the morning, Harriet went to the company.

She was going through the resignation procedures. For Steve, she entered an industry that she had no interest in.

Now that she broke up with Steve, it was pointless to continue with the job.

"Harriet, good morning."

"Harriet, good morning."

"Morning."

Harriet nodded with a faint smile. At the age of 23, she was respected by everyone because of her feat as an ace agent.

Then she noticed people's strange and evasive gazes.

"Harriet..."

"Mm." Harriet arched her eyebrow and pushed open the office door.

Before her eyes, the deputy CEO was sitting there, and her office was turned upside down.

Steve and Candice were standing by his sides separately. Candice was bending over and muttering with the deputy CEO.

Heh... Harriet chuckled and walked over, "Mr. Olson."

"Mm." Mr. Olson nodded, "Harriet, are you climbing up the social ladder or starting your own business? Even Steve can't persuade you to stay?"

Great, she didn't even need to submit her resignation.

Harriet glanced at Steve and jeered, "Not really, I'm just tired and need a break."

Steve was surprised that she didn't even argue.

Mr. Olson frowned as the disappointment was inevitable.

"It makes sense. Harriet, taking a break is not a bad idea, but... you can't take the confidential files of the company with you."

Harriet clenched her fists and forced a smile, "Certainly."

Harriet took the key to open the safe where her most important files were stored... Those business cards were from respectable businessmen and directors in Sea City. Even Steve may not have the contacts... They were her essential network as an agent.

Candice's eyes swirling, she poured a glass of water and handed it to Harriet with a smile.

"Harriet, since you have a lot of stuff, take a seat and take your time to sort them out. Don't leave anything behind."

Harriet sneered. What... did she mean by that? Presumably, she was afraid that she would take something away!

It was funny that someone should suspect her like that.
