Chapter 6 Neatly dressed, Vigorous, and Handsome

Harriet didn't want to take it, "I'm fine and not thirsty..."

But Candice tilted her hand, and the water was poured all over Harriet.

Candice feigned panic, "Oops, sorry, Harriet. I didn't mean to... It slipped from my hand."

Harriet raised her eyes and glared at Candice.

Candice sneered but put on a show, "Harriet, your clothes are wet... Why don't you dry them in the bathroom?"

Drying them in the bathroom?

Harriet narrowed her eyes. This girl was wise in her own conceit! When she left, they would check the contents of her safe, right?

They were smart, but she was no doormat!

Harriet tugged her wet clothes and smiled, "Accident, right?"

... Candice froze, "Yes."

"Good!" Harriet glanced at the door out of the corner of her eye and saw the cleaning lady mopping the floor.

On high heels, she walked over, bent down, and picked up the bucket of water... dirty from the mop.

Harriet carried the bucket in and poured it towards Candice without further ado!

"Ah..." Taken by surprise, Candice screamed!

She was soaked by the dirty water from head to toe and tainted with an odor!

Shocked, Steve couldn't help but frown, "Harriet! What are you doing?"

"Oops!" Harriet curled up her lips to sneer, felt a pricking pain in her heart, and looked at Candice, "Are you alright? It was an accident... Look at you; you're soaking wet. Why don't you dry yourself in the bathroom?"

"Harriet, what's wrong with you? Ah... argh!"

Candice screamed constantly. Drenched and discomfited, she hadn't expected Harriet would pay her back so soon!

Suddenly, a snarl came from the doorway.

"What's the noise?"

Everyone looked over, surprised by the presence of the CEO.

Mr. Steele frowned and glared around, "Do you know that we're receiving an important guest in the adjacent conference room? Which one of you will take responsibility if the guest is disturbed?"

Important guest? Who?

The door of the conference room opened.

Dressed in a well-ironed back shirt, Mervyn looked vigorous and handsome, but his eyes looked stern.

Clack...

Mervyn slowly walked over on his Berluti leather shoes, free from a speck of dust. His deep eyes were narrowed, and he glanced around until his gaze landed on Harriet. His gaze was very blunt and aggressive.

Ah...

Harriet was in awe, her tender lips slightly open.

This man looked so familiar.

Vague images flashed across her mind, and her heart started to race abruptly. He... he seemed to be the man she picked up the other day in Heaven on Earth Club.

"Noisy."

Mervyn adopted an arrogant attitude and only said one word.

Richard took the hint and asked the CEO, "Mr. Steele, who was so noisy?"

Mr. Steele glared at his subordinates, "Who was so loud just now? Huh?"

Candice's eyes swiveled, and she pointed at Harriet, "Her!"

"Yuck." Mervyn faintly snorted.

Richard frowned, "Mr. Steele, your employees are so unruly. How could they cut in so casually?"

The implication was that not everyone could answer Mervyn's question! A common employee like Candice obviously was not worthy of talking with Mervyn.

Mr. Steele hurriedly nodded, "Yeh, it's the fault of my employee..."

He immediately looked at Mr. Olson, "What's going on?"

After weighing his options, Mr. Olson pushed Candice out, "It was her. She shouted!"

... Candice stumbled and stood there with trepidation.

Everyone fixed his eyes on her as if she was a clown.

"You!" Mervyn lifted his chin and pointed at Candice.

Under his awful air, everyone kept quiet.
