Chapter 9 Feeding
"I actually fancy some fish!" Bree said, pointing at the spicy fish fillets with egg white that was a little far away from her.
Leo then reached out his long arm to fetch several thin slices of fish into her plate.
Bree took a bite of the fish. It tasted delicious and tender.
"It's delicious, indeed. Try some." Bree held a piece of the fish to Leo's lips and paused for a second as she noticed the man's suddenly stunned expression.
At that moment, Bree felt everyone's eyes on her chopsticks.
"Damn it!" Bree thought to herself.
She purely wanted to share the delicious food with the man and did not think it through. He might hate this kind of intimacy.
If they were not on such an occasion, she could withdraw her hand as if nothing had happened. However, in the present, it was...
Just as Bree felt somewhat embarrassed, Leo opened his thin lips and ate the piece of fish that the woman put before his mouth.
The smile upon Bree's lips grew sweeter and gentler as she felt relieved.
She continued directing Leo to add food for her but did not feed him for a second time.
Patrice, being completely ignored, looked at Leo with an embarrassed, aggrieved look in her eyes. Still, she received no attention from the man at all.
Hervey stared at Leo and Bree with a gloomy expression but said nothing.
Oliver took a sip of red wine with a sly glint flashing across his eyes.
Hilda, too, was caught off guard by Leo and Bree's performance. But her eyes soon flickered and then fell on Bree.
"Oh, right. Who is this young lady, please?"
When the fire finally got to her, Bree did not panic at all. She swallowed the food in her mouth, put down her chopsticks, and smiled politely at Hilda.
"I'm Bree Wells."
Wells?
People on the scene thought quickly but failed to find any wealthy and influential family surnamed Wells in S City.
With an icy facial expression and a stomach full of anger, Hervey said in a grave tone of voice, "Miss Wells is visiting the Lewis Family, yet you treat the hosts as nothing. Are you brought up in this way?"
"It's no wonder the guests treat them like nothing when the hosts are so disrespectful." Leo cast a light glance at Hervey and the others with apparent sarcasm in his eyes.
"You!" Hervey flew into a rage but did not know what to say for a moment.
The smile on Bree's face gradually faded as she wiped her mouth with a napkin. "It's my parents' duty to take care of my upbringing. So please don't worry about that."
Her words were neither humble nor pushy.
A subtle smile flashed across Leo's face and soon disappeared.
Hervey was an experienced businessman with a career of more than twenty years. Since he renamed the Corbyn Group, no one dared to disrespect him like this.
How could he put up being lectured by a little girl who came out of nowhere?
However, it was a matter of the fact that the Lewis Family disrespected the woman in the first place. Therefore, he was speechless and could do nothing but glare at Hilda.
Hilda felt irritated and gritted her teeth secretively. Still, she maintained an elegant smile on the outside as she was the Lewis Family's hostess.
Did not she notice Bree earlier?
Of course, she did.
Hilda noticed Bree the moment Leo and the latter entered the house.
Hilda deliberately ignored Bree, wanting to step on Bree to teach Leo a lesson. Unexpectedly, her plans failed.
Bree, gentle and pretty on the outside, was actually a calm, smart woman. Not only was she not intimidated, but she put the Lewis Family in an awkward situation.
"It's my fault. I was overjoyed as Leo finally came back after so many years."
Hilda took the initiative to take the blame, smiling and asking, "I wonder what Miss Wells and Leo's relationship is?"
Hilda paused for a second as if thinking about something, quickly glanced at Patrice, and continued, "It's actually a family get together. And..."
