Chapter 13 A Talk with Her Alone

Whitney froze there.

She hadn't expected Ned's return!

He walked into the room, stood behind Nancy, and stared at Whitney. Tears were still lingering on her face.

Whitney raised her head for a glance at Ned and cowered immediately, "Boohoo, I just said you lectured me for my good..."

"It's good for you to know it. Don't let me hear anything from your grandpa, or I'll break your legs."

Then his cell phone rang in his pocket.

He took it out for a glance and picked it up while walking away.

Nancy walked to the door and saw Ned changing his shoes and going out. There seemed to be something important that he left in such a hurry.

Nancy made sure Ned was gone and heaved a sigh of relief.

She didn't know why she found the man easy-going in the beginning. In fact, he was difficult to get along with.

Nancy walked over and comforted Whitney for a long time. The latter finally wiped her tears and calmed down. At night, they continued with the study.

When it was time to sleep, Nancy and Whitney shared a bed. Whitney talked a lot until her breathing became even in her sleep.

Nancy looked at the ceiling and thought about Ned whom she encountered today.

This man was handsome, rich, charismatic in the style of speech and demeanor, and eye-catching wherever he went. He was both refined and tough as a man...

In the end, her mind was mostly filled with the scene of him pressing her down and kissing her. Like an infatuated girl who secretly ate the forbidden fruit, she didn't dare to recall it but couldn't help it.

...

She tutored Whitney for two weeks, and tomorrow was the day of the monthly exam.

Whitney felt giddy because math still gave her headaches. It was already 11 p.m. Since she didn't lodge at school, the driver hired by the Lohan family had been waiting outside.

Whitney lay prone on her desk and scratched her hair, "No way, I won't get a score of 70 in math, it's impossible. You know, the students at No. 1 High School are so smart. It's hard for me to get through this. Nancy, what should I do? I'm going to drag you down."

Following her words, the rims of her eyes turned red with guilt.

Nancy checked the time. The gate of the dormitory was about to close. She put down her pen and looked at Whitney in the eye, "How about this? During the math test, I write down your name, and you write mine."

Whitney moved her hand away from her head, and her eyes glittered, "That's brilliant, Nancy. Ned is so busy that he won't rifle through the test paper for my handwriting, not to mention that he's not familiar with it. In terms of numbers, our handwritings are similar. By then, you should scrawl a little, and I'll write them more neatly..."

They had a discussion and made a happy decision.

When the result of the monthly test came out, Whitney got 10th place and Nancy 11th.

Both of them were relieved.

However, the relief didn't last long before Nancy was summoned to the teacher's office.

She pushed open the door and saw Ned sitting in a chair. In front of him were two answer sheets. At that moment, he kept his eyes slightly low, and his eye expression could not be seen.

Nancy had such good eyesight that she saw the numbers on the sheets at a glance.

Oh no, those were the answer sheets for math!

Standing next to him was the math teacher who wiped the sweat from his forehead, "Mr. Green, to avoid suspicion, the answer sheets are corrected separately. It's my fault for failing to detect the cheating."

When Ned heard the sound of the door closing, he raised his eyes for a glance at Nancy and instructed the math teacher, "Give us the room, I need a talk with her alone."
