Chapter 8 Hubert Tuccillo
What was going on?
This was not the usual expression of Liz.
Although Liz had never been that cooperative, all she could was being perverse. She had never given off such a mighty vibe before.
At this moment, in Amor's eyes, there was something of Greg in Liz!
Could a woman really change that much after marrying someone?
Before Amor came to his senses, Liz stepped out of the door.
Amor realized he had made a mistake, stomped his foot, and resigned himself to his fate by calling Greg to collect his punishment.
Greg was somewhere in a meeting.
It was an emergency meeting on the preparation for the World Medical Communication Congress.
The World Medical Communication Congress was going to be held in this country this year, and the Behrendt Group was the primary host of it.
At this moment, however, the company executives were looking at each other in speechless despair.
Although the accident at the wedding this morning was kept from being published by the media, the executives were clear about what had happened.
Greg showed up at the meeting only several hours after that incident. Thus, no one dared to say anything for fear of becoming Greg's target to take his fury upon.
"Don't you have any ideas?"
Greg's voice grew colder. The room was not air-conditioned, but everyone felt freezing.
"Marketing Manager?"
Greg specified one attendee to speak.
Everyone looked sympathetically at the man being selected.
The marketing manager stood up shakily. Before he spoke, sweat began to drip wildly from his forehead.
"Well..."
In the quiet conference room, a bell suddenly rang.
The ringtone was a song sung by Kylie, a currently popular star.
The look in the attendee's eyes was somewhat strange.
People agreed that President Behrendt and Kylie, who were childhood sweethearts and had similar family backgrounds, were made for each other.
Greg's marriage to another woman seemed to be a terminator of the rumor. However, he was still using Kylie's song as the ringtone. Presumably, Kylie was still on his mind.
That was not hard to understand, though.
It was said that Greg's current wife got nothing else but her outstanding appearance.
Greg was probably having some fun with her.
Kylie clearly owned a greater chance to end up being with Greg.
Greg picked up the phone with a calm expression.
"Mr. Behrendt, Miss Tuccillo..."
"She ran away?"
"Sorry, I couldn't stop her. She said it was an emergency..."
Bang!
A chair was kicked over onto the floor.
The attendees kept silent and held their breathing cautiously.
The marketing manager was scared to sit right down on the floor, trembling all over.
Greg's fury was on the verge of exploding, and intense, bloodthirsty hostility was about to burst out of his charming eyes.
"Meeting adjourned."
Once Greg was gone, the others resumed their movements like someone took the spell off them.
Two men next to the marketing manager helped him up from the floor. The poor thing, who almost pissed himself, still felt weak in his legs.
Greg entered the vehicle and slammed the door, breathing heavily with a murderous, furious look in his eyes.
Sure enough, what the woman said earlier in front of Greg was nothing but a lie to let his guard down.
What was the emergency?
She must have gone after Chris again!
At the prison, Liz eventually met her father.
Liz's hand holding the earphone was shaking as she saw Hubert through the glass.
It had only been a few months for Hubert since they saw each other last time, but it had been five years for Liz.
During the five years in the previous life, Liz, being muddleheaded, lost everything.
She spent countless painful nights calling out to her father in her dreams, wishing that the man who used to hold her in his arms since she was a child would come back to life.
Once she opened her eyes, the dreams would end mercilessly.
Staring at Hubert's slightly haggard face, Liz felt both incredibly fortunate and guilty.
Liz's stupidity and ignorance killed her father and Greg, the two men who loved her most, in the previous life. This time, she would never let them go.
"Dad."
The moment Liz called out to her father, her eye sockets reddened with tears inside.
