Chapter 7 Why Are You an Exception
Just now, he didn't answer this question.
"Not really, it has nothing to do with Mr. Burns."
Now even Mason frowned imperceptibly.
"Then why?" They were bent on getting to the bottom of it.
Mason also looked over, seemingly waiting for an answer.
His penetrating gaze made the manager's skin crawl.
But he managed to stay neither humble nor pushy.
His respectful voice came out again, "This is Miss Greer's privacy, so I'm afraid I'm not at liberty to tell. I should prepare the dishes for you and other guests." Following his speech, he went out.
The manager turned away decisively, leaving everyone in speechless despair. In the end, they looked at the person in question.
But Eliza would never waste time on irrelevant people. She was very busy and now holding her cell phone to text attentively.
"Eliza, do you know the boss here? Why are you an exception?" Rose couldn't help but ask her immediately.
"None of your business." Eliza didn't even lift her eyelids.
Her cold voice filled with indifference and arrogance pissed Rose! She was but a bumpkin. Who did she think she was? Snow job! An old flame of hers, who knew?
Mason also had doubts in his heart but declined to ask.
About 15 minutes later, the waiter began to serve the dishes that Norah just ordered. The raw food and medium steaks still got blood inside. In fact, she didn't eat much raw food because of her poor stomach. She would suffer if she had them today.
She intended to embarrass Eliza but somehow stewed in her own juice.
Those relatives and her friends looked sullen. About Norah's age, they were all traditional people not used to having such food as sashimi and raw beef.
After the western food was served, the manager served Eliza's dishes in person. Her food was quite different.
"All the dishes have been served. Dear guests, please enjoy your dinner." The manager said respectfully and then retired.
Mason took a glance at the girl beside him. She already started dining regardless of those resentful eyes.
He also started to have his steak with a poker face.
The others, however, didn't even touch their tableware.
Eliza raised her head, took a glance at everyone, and spoke coldly, "Why aren't you eating? Did you deliberately say that you have them often but actually boast?"
There was distinct sarcasm in her calm tone.
Norah cared about her reputation. Never would she stand such ridicule and admit defeat.
"Of course not, we often have them. These are delicious. Unlike you, we have seen much of the world!"
As Mason looked over indifferently, Norah immediately shut up her mouth.
"In that case, have your food and stop the nonsense."
Since Norah made such a remark, the others had to swallow their portions. Abiding their doom, they looked quite funny. Two ladies about Norah's age couldn't hold it but rushed out to vomit...
They chewed their food like sawdust while watching Eliza enjoyed her delicious Chinese food.
At that point, Norah already felt sick.
Apart from those rumored characteristics, Mason also allowed no squander. In the end, they bit the bullet and finished up their food.
The meal was like cruel torture to Eliza's scoffers. They suffered like hell while their stomachs churned. Supporting Norah, Rose didn't dare to say anything. Once she opened her mouth, she would puke for sure.
Eliza was satisfied to see their self-inflicted suffering.
When they just went out of the booth, a tall and dashing man walked over. His eyes were fixed on Eliza.
"Eliza!" He approached and called out in surprise.
Then he hugged her.
Standing by the side, Mason slightly narrowed his eyes...
