Chapter 5 Get Lost

In the past seven years, she had imagined countless scenarios of their reunion.

She had hopes and expectations, but what happened today shattered them all.

The moment when Sophia got out of the booth, the table was overturned with a bang. The bottles and cups crashed on the floor.

People immediately stopped talking and looked over gingerly.

His big hand grasped a bottle with veins popping, and crimson blood trickled down his knuckles to the floor.

"Jim..."

"Get out, all of you!" His voice was hysterical, furious, and devilish.

Appalled, people in the booth exchanged looks and scrambled to get out.

The room fell into silence, and Jim slowly sat down on the sofa, "See me not, heh, Sophia, you made a mistake and dream of avoiding it? Don't even think about it!"

...

Sophia pulled her torn clothes and staggered to the locker room.

"Sophia, our manager demands to see you in her office." A voluptuously dressed woman came up.

Sophia glanced at her indifferently. The woman's eyes were filled with undisguised contempt and gloat. This industry was always like this, and she had been used to it.

"I see."

"What are you proud of? You feign loftiness all the time but kneel and beg when a big shot shows up." The woman rolled her eyes, muttered, and wiggled her slender waist to leave.

Sophia narrowed her fierce eyes and grabbed the woman by her slender wrist. Rage was written on her face, "What did you say? Say it again, I dare you!"

"What are you doing! You could only flaunt in front of me. Let's see if you can keep doing it when the manager fires you in a moment!"

"What did you say!" Sophia changed countenance.

Daunted at first, the woman then detected her weak spot from her pale face and smirked, "You made such a scene tonight. Who dares to keep you? Pack up and prepare to get lost!" Following her words, she broke free and turned away triumphantly.

Sophia was stunned for quite a while. The manager was going to fire her?

No! Absolutely no!

It was not that she liked the job. On the contrary, she hated it, but the high salary here dissolved her disgust.

Jim was correct about one thing. She loved money more than before and thus could not afford to lose the job.

Without changing her clothes, she rushed into the manager's office with a pale face.

"Sophia, you're here. Alright, here is your salary for the next three months. I know your family is struggling financially and thus give you 1,000 yuan extra. Take the money and stop coming from tomorrow on." The manager, a woman about 40 years old, threw a white envelope on the desk.

Sophia stiffened and then rushed over anxiously, "Madam, I really need this job. I promise I'll improve my service. Could you let me stay?"

"I... won't repeat. Sophia, be decent, take the money, and leave. Nagging further, you'll leave without the money."

Sophia paled instantly. There... was no room for negotiation?

She knew that those men she offended tonight boasted deep background, but the club had been running for a long time and had the power to protect her, unless...

A greater power was working against her.

A face suddenly popped up in her mind. Jim, was it you?

In the end, she failed to turn the tide. Holding the thick envelope, she gave a wry smile.

Looked like she had to find another job.

When could she raise the 800,000 yuan for her mother's medical expenses?
