Chapter 14 Who Do You Think You Are?
At Noah's words, Claude raised his brows and walked over with a glass of 73 Lafite. "Yeah, it's him. Gee, who's that woman with him?"
"Won't we know in a minute?" Noah replied in a light tone.
"I've known President Hayes for many years. This is the very time that he shows up at an event with a female partner. Unbelievable. Did you see pigs flying on your way over here?" Claude was puzzled and curious. Staring at Emma following Wilson, he continued, "That woman looks like a stunner from this distance. Who the hell is she?"
He frowned, thinking hard about what kind of woman in town was qualified to match Wilson.
Meanwhile, Noah was wondering if it was the woman who tried to seduce Wilson the day before.
He witnessed other women seducing Wilson before, and none of them succeeded. So, he negated his guess.
"Sorry that I'm late, President Lane, President Evans. I was delayed by something urgent at the company."
A man in a white suit entered the hall. His outfit was decent and formal, and his appearance was reasonably handsome. However, his temperament was far from catching up with that of Noah and Claude.
"President Pearson, today's event is significantly related to the prospects of our companies this year. Even Noah and I dared not get late. And you are twenty minutes late. Don't you know that I hate to work with people who are not punctual?"
Claude glanced at James with disgust.
In Claude's opinion, James was not even qualified to sit at the same table with them. Their net worths were worth billions, while James was at most the boss of a second-rate company in City Y who relied on his father. In terms of abilities and influence, James was way worse than them.
If Wilson had not agreed to James' request, Noah and Claude would not have shown up. And James actually had come late for 20 minutes.
Did James regard himself as Wilson?
Noah glanced at Claude, saying, "Don't get mad. President Pearson was busy. Also, it was nice that we got early and exchanged several glasses of decent wine, wasn't it?"
Claude chuckled and said nothing else. However, the expression in his eyes upon James became even odder.
Seeing that his arriving late had offended the two big shots, James kept trying to please them.
Half an hour late, President Hayes opened the door and entered; the three men inside looked over at him in unison.
Noah and Claude had noticed the woman with Wilson earlier and were familiar with Wilson. Thus, they did not look at Wilson but fixed their eyes upon Emma standing behind him.
Unlike the other two men, although James had heard many of Wilson's legends, seeing Wilson in person was his first time. James's father witnessed Wilson's side face once, and he told James that it was amazingly handsome.
Wilson's gorgeous features and his noble, proud vibe immediately stunned James. After a good while, the latter eventually came back to his senses.
Just then, James got shocked once again.
Emma?
Why was she with Wilson?
Wilson glanced at James's petrified face, then greeted Noah and Claude. "Sorry that I'm late. This is my secretary, Emma."
"Secretary?"
"Secretary?"
Both Noah and Claude were experienced businessmen, but they were equally surprised when Wilson introduced Emma.
Was not the woman Wilson's girlfriend?
Wilson had female secretaries before but had never brought them to any occasion like this. At most, Avery Rogers, his special assistant, would show up with him.
