Chapter 15 It's Absolutely up to You
Something was wrong.
After greeting Emma, Noah and Claude got seated.
The event was not formal but related to the biggest cooperative project this year between their companies, which was about developing tourist attractions in the suburbs of City Y and constructing the largest glass walkway in the country. Its significance was evident from the fact that the dignified bosses of these companies gathered.
In fact, the project was initially all N.S.'s. However, Wilson intended to cooperate with the others, and they naturally did not want to miss such a great business.
In the gorgeous dress, Emma looked innocent yet feminine. However, the expression in her eyes was emotionless. In addition to pouring wine for the men, she just stood on one side and wrote down the critical contents of their conversation from time to time, just like an ordinary secretary.
James was utterly shocked by Wilson. Occasionally, he stole glances at Emma, and the complex look in his eyes was annoying.
Emma was aware of James's shock and knew that he had been peeking at her. However, from the beginning to the end, she focused on her work and did not spare an extra glance at him.
Noah and Claude realized that Wilson deliberately called James over and brought his secretary with him. However, they could not figure out what was his true intentions.
"President Pearson, don't you have anything to say? And can you show me the planning prepared by M Company?" When James was stealing a glance at Emma for the umpteenth time, Wilson called him all of a sudden.
The expression in Wilson's starry eyes was freezing and indifferent. Instantly, James stiffened all over.
James then handed the proposal over to Wilson and showed him the M Company's planning. His obsequious manners disgusted Emma.
Emma used to believe that James was an ambitious young talent. However, it turned out that he was just a piece of trash under a mask and a cautious disguise.
Although his status and momentum were no match for Wilson, he did not have to appear so humble.
"Secretary Brooks?"
While Emma was lost in thoughts, Wilson suddenly called her name. She hurried to conceal the mocking expression in her eyes and replied in a grave tone of voice, "What can I do for you, President Hayes?"
"Do you think M Company is qualified to participate in Project A?"
Emma was slightly surprised and looked at Noah and Claude.
Noah was drinking while Claude was reading the documents as if they did not hear Wilson's words.
Emma was disturbed. What was Wilson doing? Did he mean it to ask for her opinion on M Company's involvement in the project?
Her hesitation made Wilson squint his eyes and James nervous.
"I am just a secretary and don't know much about the project. President Hayes, I think you should make the decision." Emma eventually did not overstep the boundaries. Anyway, what if this was just a test?
"Let's take a break." Wilson said lightly, "Although you do not know much about the project, I still want to hear your advice."
While speaking, Wilson deliberately glanced at James.
James's sluggish brain finally worked, and he immediately understood Wilson's intention.
"Excuse me; I'm going to use the bathroom." Emma's heart was pounding violently, and she desperately needed to calm down.
After Emma went out, James also found an excuse to step out of the room. Wilson stared at James with a weird look in his eyes, thoroughly ignoring the other two men.
"I initially thought your company was a lady from some wealthy and influential family. Unexpectedly, it was the..."
At this moment, Wilson glared at Noah, and the latter instantly muted his mouth.
