Chapter 11 I Want to Make a Move on You

Although Carson felt disappointed that Sophia was not asking him to do anything, he nodded with a grave expression at her reminder. "Thank you for your guidance. From today on, I will definitely carry out more kind deeds and ask my family to join me."

He paused for one second, then asked, "Lady, where are you going? Would you like a lift?"

Sophia was about to nod upon seeing the sincere look in Carson's eyes. Just then, Ryan abruptly interrupted him in a light voice.

"No, you may leave. I'll give her a ride."

Carson froze, then tilted his head to look into Ryan's freezing eyes. Somehow, he shivered all over and did not dare to look into the latter's eyes again.

Carson instantly took his eyes off Ryan and said to Sophia, "Oh, right. My name is Carson. Feel free to contact me whenever you need me to do anything. You have my words."

With that, under Ryan's fearsome gaze, Carson left in a hurry.

Right after Carson left, a man who claimed to be Calvin's assistant walked up to Sophia with an antique wooden box.

He handed the wooden box to Sophia and reported respectfully, "Miss Anderson, this is a gift of thanks from Mr. Cooper for your saving his younger brother. Please accept it! Mr. Cooper is in the hospital right now and can't come here to express his gratitude in person. He said he will make it up personally when he's available."

Sophia did not decline the man and took the wooden box over.

She had saved Tyler's life. It was reasonable for her to accept a gift.

Besides, she knew that the wealthy disliked the feeling of owing somebody a favor. Thus, Sophia decided that she shall not say no.

She had just checked the Tai-Chi Jade Amulet, and it was dull. And the system did not tell her that the mission was finished or that she was rewarded with 10 points of merit.

Apparently, the jade amulet's true Qi was only enough to repair Tyler's soul but not sufficient to get him through the danger.

She tapped her fingers on the wooden box and thought about going to the hospital the next day to check on Tyler.

Calvin's assistant left quietly after delivering the gift.

Sophia walked forward with the box in her hand. Her mind was so preoccupied that she left Ryan and Evan behind.

It was not until Ryan called out to her that it dawned on Sophia that the man and Evan were still on the spot.

"What can I do for you?" Sophia lifted her eyes to looked at Ryan.

Although she did not mind saving Ryan's life when he was in danger, it did not mean she wanted to get involved with him.

She moved the wooden box from one hand to another. It was a bit large, and she thought it would be easier to find a bag later to contain it.

Evan witnessed the woman's absent-mindedness, and the corners of his mouth twitched.

Countless women in Capital City were Ryan's admirers who would feel happy all day long if Ryan said a word to them.

However, Sophia's attitude towards Ryan was rather standoffish and casual.

Looking at the woman, Ryan raised his brows slightly with a faint smile hidden in the corners of his mouth. "I take back my promise to compensate you this morning."

Sophia took two steps back with the wooden box and looked at him warily. "What do you want?"

Ryan was amused by her reaction and blinked, the smile upon his mouth deepening. He looked at Sophia and said word by word, "I want to make a move on you."

Sophia froze, and a trace of surprise crossed her eyes. The man was clearly desperate to get rid of her this morning for fear of her haunting or pestering.

How did he change his mind in just a few hours?

Sophia replied deliberately, "Here's the thing, we've only known each other for a few hours. You don't know me at all. It's too hasty to say that you want to make a move on me."
