Chapter 17 Choosing to Face It
"Someone was here, a friend of Colin Stanley."
With a fierce expression, Harden told his buddy what just happened. Halfway through the speech, Patrick got it and clenched his fists.
"Well, what did he say?"
Harden thought nothing of his younger brother, not to mention his running dog. Unhurriedly, he picked up his wine and took a sip.
"Nothing, I've dealt with him."
"Okay, I'll tell Meiss about it."
Looked like Patrick intended to beat that man up. In his anger, he forgot about Camila.
After all, she was just a pawn...
The next day came, but the weather seemed to be against her. Even so, Camila was bent on returning home as planned. Unless the flights were canceled, she would go back today.
"Jojo, how are you doing! I'm coming home today."
As soon as she woke up, Camila called her bestie. It had been a long time. Now except for her parents, she wanted to meet Joan the most.
Joan sounded sleepy but sat up from bed at the surprising news.
"Why... aren't you there just for one day? Anything wrong?"
She spent a fortune to tour around Malaysia. After just one day, she clamored to come home. Everyone would find it strange.
"There is something I should figure out. I don't want to hide from it anymore. When I get back, I'll tell you about it. It's too complicated to explain over the phone, and remember to pick me up."
The gentle girl could also be stubborn. It was a pity that her tour was ruined by Harden who showed up out of nowhere. Regardless of the wind and rain, she would go back and fix the issue, otherwise, it would haunt her for the rest of her life!
Joan was baffled. Camila hadn't mentioned a word about it. What went wrong with her today?
"Mm... okay, tell me your flight number later." She replied with doubts.
At 6 p.m., the plane landed in Sea City. As promised, Joan had been waiting at the international portal anxiously and excitedly.
In a white off-shoulder long dress, the girl had shiny long hair that set off her fair, smooth skin. Without doubts, it was Camila. At a glance, Joan spotted the stunner in the crowd.
"Cami! Over here."
Joan ran through the crowd. They hadn't met for a long time and now hugged each other excitedly.
"Jojo, it's been a while, miss me?"
Camila beamed and joked. As soon as she saw Joan, her anxious mind relaxed a lot.
"Yes, I miss you so much! What were you thinking? Why did you leave without saying goodbye?"
Joan sulked because her best friend left without telling her.
Only Camila had her difficulties. Back then, her mind was a mess, and it was meaningless to tell anyone about that matter. She was the crux to her own problem!
"Sorry, I'll explain it to you. Now shall we find a place to eat something and talk?"
Except for breakfast, she hadn't eaten anything all day. In haste, she packed up her luggage and caught her flight. Not a fan of the plane meal, she was now starving and craving hotpot...
