Chapter 18 Unfolding the Whole Story

"You've had your hotpot. Care to tell me now?"

Joan was anxious to know what happened. After all, it had been half a year! Before this, whenever it was brought up, Camila kept silent. Besides, she was busy teaching in the countryside and had no time to talk about it.

Camila chewed the beef rolls and faltered.

"Remember my birthday? I didn't go home."

Joan was confused to hear that.

"Mm, I did. I called you like a million times, but you didn't answer, and then your phone was powered off. Later, your parents called me and mentioned that you didn't go home."

In her view, Camila got drunk and stayed out for the night.

Camila slowly put down the chopsticks, and the beef rolls in her mouth tasted insipid.

"Actually... I was framed by Victoria that day."

In the past six months, Joan had heard about some gossip. Victoria spread false rumors, claiming that Camila's innocence was fake and she was sluttish by nature.

So, it had something to do with Victoria. Looked like Joan had predicted it.

"What! What did she do to you?"

Unable to get over it, Camila sighed repeatedly and found it too embarrassing to recount the incident!

"Back then, I was tipsy, and she handed me a bottle of drink, claiming that it could relieve intoxication. In fact... it was a drug!"

"And... what happened next?"

Joan's brows were knitted together and her eyes were filled with guilt. If she went there that day, it might not have happened.

At that point, Camila decided to unfold the story. Perhaps... she could feel better.

"Then she called over two men who tried to send me to a hotel room. I fled and got saved by a man."

Joan gasped and nodded her head.

"This gives me chills. Thank God, you were saved. Were you all right?"

When she just heaved a sigh of relief, Camila suddenly lowered her voice.

"Hear me out, later that man and I had..."

The incident was full of twists and turns, and she finally got to the point!

Joan gnashed her teeth and got up emotionally.

"What! That man is also bad? Why didn't you tell me? We could call the police!"

Camila lost her tongue, held her head, and reorganized her speech.

"No... no, I don't want to call the police. Besides, that man didn't mean to do it. It's just the effects of the drugs kicked in, and I have myself to blame!"

Camila was subtle in her speech, and Joan took a tumble. This was indeed tricky!

Joan was heartbroken and furious, but there was nothing she could do.

"Ugh! How could Victoria do such a thing! She is evil! You've never offended her, why?"

Camila felt relieved a bit to reveal everything.

"I've made up my mind. I'll find her and figure things out."

Both of them were familiar with Victoria and knew her as a playgirl. Unexpectedly, she did such a thing to Camila. Was she jealous of her appearance? Did she try to discredit her through that? Or there were other reasons...
