Chapter 19 Direct Confrontation
In the third year of her college, Camila went to teach in the countryside thanks to the head teacher's recommendation. With the program over, she should go back to school.
Half a year apart, she found the campus familiar yet strange. Still a campus belle, she noticed many strange gazes and felt puzzled.
"Jojo, why are people acting weird? Anything wrong with my dress code?"
She was wearing a blue-gray sweater, jeans, and cloth shoes, which was common in college. Only she didn't know those gossip about her on campus.
Joan heard of it, found it hard to bring up, and faltered.
"Actually... it's not about your dress code. It's... Victoria who called you wanton and not as innocent as you look."
"What! Why didn't you tell me?"
Camila was so pissed that her head buzzed.
Victoria set her up and then gossiped about her on campus!
"Camila, I didn't think it's necessary. Unexpectedly, they look at you in that way. When you just left, Victoria gossiped about you. It's been some time, and I thought people would not keep it in mind."
Joan said guiltily because she didn't speak up for Camila back then when she heard about the gossip. She didn't dare to offend a notorious girl like Victoria.
"Okay, no hard feelings. It's not your fault. I should ask Victoria for an explanation."
Though timid by nature, Camila would not let Victoria slander her like that!
She went to the dormitory, sorted out her clothes, and just sat down when her parents' call came in. She opened the door and got out. Before she could converse for long, Victoria showed up from the opposite direction with a triumphant smirk. In haste, Camila hung up the phone, widened her eyes, and snapped.
"Victoria, stop, make it clear! How did I offend you?"
She had never been so angry, but her air was not awful enough to intimidate Victoria.
"Heh, after a trip to the mountains, you become so tough."
Victoria folded her arms before her chest provocatively. It seemed that she came here to mock Camila upon hearing her return to school!
"Stop the nonsense and tell me how I offended you. Six months ago, you set me up and then slandered me on campus!"
Camila plucked up the courage to confront the girl head-on!
Unfortunately, she was no match for Victoria who didn't show the slightest nervousness. Far from it, she flicked her bang and replied contemptuously.
"You tell me. Don't you know my feelings for Arlo Goodwin?"
What had it got to do with him?
Arlo was a senior in their college and a famous rich kid in Sea City. He had many admirers but only favored Camila! During her teaching in the countryside, the man tried to get in touch with her, but she just fobbed him off. Now that Victoria brought it up, the cause was self-evident.
"I didn't know! Besides, whether you like him or not has nothing to do with me. Do you have to scheme against me like that?"
