Chapter 4, Yes!

Katie realized she liked Prince; such gentle dominance. He was over there beaming, shy a lot; yet beaming gently although he wanted the ground opening up under him. 'Hi, Katie' he whispered again.

'Hi Prince, okay, so what are you doing here?' Katie impulsively said.

'Oh, chill' Prince laughed. 'I thought to surprise you last night; You know? When i excused myself that time, I went to tell the compere not to mention anything about the company' he laughed; 'it used to be my dad's, now he's gone i'm the heir'.

'WOW!', congrats! Katie exclaimed.

'Thanks, I feel really good about it, I won't lie" Prince told Katie.

Katie smiled at him.

'Okay, so why is it just both of us on this floor?' Katie said sternly.

Prince laughed again. 'I like you ma'am, consider this a proposal to please, be my girlfriend'.

'You're trying to seduce me with your money?' Katie asked. She was frowning and Prince didn't know how to answer that. He stuttered. 'Not exactly, I just thought it a nice gesture; you know? plus, you must have realized how shy I am speaking about my feelings, so; I thought this will interpret better how much I want to be your...'

'My?' Katie asked staring at him with her right eyebrow raised. 'Your man?' Prince answered.

Katie was flattered. What was going on around her?. Just a week ago, she was unemployed and lived hand to mouth. The next week, one of the richest men in New York is asking to be her boyfriend in such a grand way. It all seemed like a dream.

'So boss, can I do anything for you sir? or go to my office' Katie ignored his plea to be her boyfriend.

'Katie!' Prince called her name in a tone he had never used on her before. 'Will you date me, please?'

Katie stared at him until he blurred out of her vision and she stared into space. She snapped back to reality. 'I'd have an answer to that at the close of work sir' Katie responded.

'For the love of god, do not call me sir, even if you do not agree to date me, kindly call me Prince' he said; he was a little bit irritated.

'Fine' Katie answered.

She turned around and left for her office. Prince was nervous. He hoped he had not offended her by coming of too pushy. He got back to work to forget the incident. He couldn't wait for the close of work.

Katie was back in her office. She was smiling. 'A billionaire is asking me out, wow!' she said to herself. She phoned Betty and told her what had happened. 'Say yes, numb skull' Betty snapped at her friend. 'You know you like him, I saw the way you looked at him at the party, grinning from ear to ear; what are you waiting for? Please date him and begin spoiling me immediately, Oh my God' Betty ranted.

'Oh it's about you right?' Katie asked her friend. Betty laughed. 'Of course not, I just happen to be your best friend and benefit off the fact that you are a billionaires girlfriend, hello?' Betty said.

'Fine!, i'd call you after work, brat!' Katie said and hung up.

There was not much to do on Katie's first day. She logged in her company portal to catch up on whatever work was left undone. She phoned Michael; the HR to verify some information concerning what she was working on, Michael told her that she would be working directly with the CEO, so she should ask him for directions. 'Okay, thank you Mike'.

Katie responded. She was to go back to Prince's office, something she hated to do, but had to do it. She got up and went back to Prince's office. They both put on a serious look; like they didn't both like each other. Prince was very official explaining what Katie needed to know. It made Katie uncomfortable the way he talked to her in that official tone, like he wasn't just asking her out ten minutes ago. Katie left when he was done, he stared at her on her way out behind those glass eyes, he wondered if she would accept his proposal. 'Does she even like me?' he asked himself. She was acting totally different from when he saw her at his party. He was sure she liked him then, now? she seems turned off that he was her boss. 'Katie', he called her while she was leaving his office, 'I can have you at another office if you are uncomfortable staying here with me, alone'. Katie didn't respond. she left for her office. She kept herself engrossed with work; she wasn't going to think about Prince.

It was almost the close of work, she was going to have to think about her decision over Prince. She knew that she liked him, but was it healthy having her boss and her lover in one person? She was going to be spending a lot of time with him. He might get tired of her. A lot ran through her mind. She called Betty.

'So, have you accepted?' Betty asked as soon as she picked up Katie's call. 'Chill Betty, jeez' Katie said laughing. Katie relayed her concerns to her friend and pleaded with her to give reasonable advice. Betty told her that she was sure she already knew what she wanted, and that she should try and not worry about the future as it will always sort its self out, she finally told Katie that she was sure she would make the right decision. Katie thanked her, and promised to get back to her soon.

It was the close of work, Katie was getting ready to head out when she saw Prince at the door of her office. He knocked slightly and let himself in. 'Sorry, I couldn't wait' he said, 'and something told me you were going to run off'; they both laughed.

'So?, please will you be my girlfriend?' he asked smiling at her.

Katie stared into his glass eyes, and with a dazzling smile, she let out the word..'Yes!'
