Chapter 5 Old Habits Die Hard
Hearing Sophia's voice, Brandi gathered her thoughts and smiled. Her dimples looked lovely.
"Coming!" She sounded sweet.
Sophia was actually an excellent cook, talented as well. But she was weak.
As long as she could play tougher, things would be different. Luckily, they got enough time to change that.
The food was as simple as it used to be in the countryside.
At this time, two unexpected guests came before they could eat.
A harsh voice sounded.
"Oh, Sophia, did you cook by yourself? Didn't Mr. Hopkins send food here? That's unacceptable! I'll talk to him later."
In fact, Mr. Hopkins was revered in the family. Also, he only took orders from Senior Hank and Madame Hank. As for the rest, nobody got the right to blame him.
The woman only said so to boast.
Sophia hurried to get up and welcome the comers, regardless of how the woman mocked.
Sophia said, "Mr. Hopkins was considerate to send the food. It's Bran. She doesn't like it, so I made her something new."
"That's the servants' job, not something a madam should do!" Shelia said solemnly.
"Old habits die hard, just like dogs wouldn't..." Tabitha stopped and then apologized, "Sorry, the words just came out of my mouth. Sophia, please forgive me for that."
"Why don't you just shut up? Are you trying to show off your sausage mouth?"
Brandi satirized as she ate.
She wouldn't give in this time.
Tabitha had been proud of her thick lips, believing they were sexual and seductive.
It was unbearable that Brandi just described them as sausages!
Nobody had dared insult her like that before.
"You must be talking about yourself, also, your family!" Tabitha refuted without thinking.
Mainly because she didn't take them seriously.
Brandi looked up at her and said, "Is that so? If I remember right, this is my family, and you are the only one who has sausage mouth."
Tabitha was always the winner if anyone challenged her. All these years, quarreling was her tool to win her place.
Today, somehow, she had nothing in mind to scold back at the girl.
Sophia didn't expect Brandi to be so rude, so she nudged her to watch her manners and then apologized, "I'm very sorry. Bran is too young to know what is right. Please, don't let her get to you."
Brandi would not compromise, knowing clearly that they were here to demonstrate their place in this family.
Her eyes turned sharp. If they wanted this, she was ready.
Besides, they were with that woman after the latter came.
Therefore, even if they didn't poison Sophia last time, Brandi wouldn't take them as reliable allies.
Shelia revealed contemptible emotions in her eyes, despising they were too inexperienced to live in this place.
Sophia just said her 15-year-old girl was too young?
Shelia squinted at them and said arrogantly, "I'm afraid I can't agree with you. Brandi is no longer a little girl anymore. You know, Fiona had become Elliot Colman's student at the age of 15."
Shelia looked proud when mentioning her eldest daughter.
Fiona's piano skill was so unmatched that she had taken Elliot Colman as her master, which was an honor to Shelia no matter when.
Elliot Colman?
It took Brandi a while to remember who that man was.
Elliot Colman was very arrogant and didn't deserve his title.
Brandi disdained people of his kind. Not to mention he was only famous in the capital at best.
Most of his titles were boosting, which meant he only packaged himself that way.
But he was like dirt in front of the international piano masters.
Speaking of the best pianist in Clertane, it must be Liam Shanks, a mysterious and desireless master.
He always wore an old mask when playing the piano. It varied each time as if he picked it up on the street.
The masks never fitted his identity.
But he was a man of honor indeed. His piano skill was acknowledged by Philly, the most famous pianist in the world. The latter even complimented him publicly and didn't consider himself a match for Liam.
Most importantly, Liam had asked to be Brandi's master in her previous life, but she refused and ended their story.
Unfortunately, all of these were unspeakable. Brandi couldn't explain how she had learned all this.
