Chapter 6 That's the Servants' Job

After all, Brandi was just an ignorant girl who didn't know how the world worked.

Tabitha was jealous to hear Fiona's name.

When she delivered her first baby, a boy, she was delighted, believing she had a promising future with the son.

But what disappointed her was that her 12-year-old son wasn't talented and had no interest in doing business.

Lucky for Tabitha, her daughter Leona was a gifted dancer. Since she had high hopes for her daughter, she planned to wait until her daughter bettered her skill and then find someone more famous for being her master. By doing so, they would win Fiona on this.

And the fourth branch would be honored.

Thinking of this, Tabitha changed the topic, "Sophia, just let the servants do their job. If you continue to do this, you'll dishonor us and bring shame to the Hank Family."

"Excuse me, did you just say cooking is the servants' job?" Brandi widened her eyes and asked innocently.

And that made Tabitha feel proud. No matter how she became Mrs. Hank, at least her family background was better than Sophia's.

"Tell me about it. Cooking is the servants' job in the Hank Family."

Brandi nodded, but her gaze became wry.

"I've borne that in mind, but I like the food my mother cooked for me. So, next time when I see Grandma, I'll tell her not to make my mother a servant."

Shelia's face turned gloomy.

It was fine that they said it here, but if Madame Hank knew about this, the consequence might be unbearable.

She couldn't let that happen.

"You naughty girl! Why do you have to tell your Grandma?"

Sophia knew the consequence as well.

Shelia was now taking charge of the family. Besides, Mr. Hopkins had emphasized that she should behave herself in the family and get along well with the rest. Otherwise, their life would be harder in the following days.

Sophia had begun to regret that she shouldn't have to take Brandi back here.

Therefore, she exhorted, "Bran, we'll keep this between us, right?"

As she said so, she stared at Brandi's eyes, wishing she could understand.

Even if she was an adult, she had never forced her daughter to do anything.

Brandi pouted her mouth, acting coquettishly.

"But I want to eat the food you cook, and I don't want you to be a servant."

Sophia didn't know how to talk her through. If her little girl were unhappy, she would feel the same.

Given the situation, Sophia gave in and said, "We won't talk about this. Shelia, Tabitha, would you like to join us for supper?"

She knew they wouldn't stay, so she was actually driving them out.

The two were supposed to say more, but they snorted and left in the end, complaining inwardly that Sophia was unruly.

She didn't even know how to refuse them nicely.

If she were so stupid, Madame Hank wouldn't like her anyway.

Tabitha swayed her hips, "Don't bother. I just had some cubilose. It's time for me to apply a mask and do skincare. Otherwise, I'm afraid I'll look like an aged woman in front of Sophia."

In her eyes, cubilose must be something valuable that they had never tasted.

Life was so unfair. Sophia came from a place of nowhere, but her tender face looked so deductive.

Tabitha told herself that she should work harder on her skin.

But she didn't know that cubilose was an ordinary drink for Sophia.

Brandi knew how jealous they were, so she made a funny face at them.

All the skincare products Sophia had been used were all made by Brandi.

The natural materials were chosen according to Sophia's skin condition, so she looked perfect.

Brandi had experienced masters in the countryside to teach her cosmeceuticals. The real masters were always hidden among the public.

After they left, Sophia and Brandi finally started to eat.

...

Early the next morning.

Brandi ran directly to her mother's bed.

Sophia was shocked when opening her eyes.

Seeing Brandi, she murmured, "Honey, you should sleep more. You haven't got used to your new bed, have you?"

Brandi nodded.

Sophia got up.

"What do you want to eat for breakfast, Bran?"

Since Brandi made it clear that she didn't like the food yesterday, Sophia decided to cook by herself.

"Steamed buns with potherbs inside it."

Sophia was stuck.

Where could she get any potherbs?"
